They fall off easily enough sometimes, but having just had the stalk snap at the ball/mirror end, I need to remove the remaining piece (base) which is attached to the screen using the strong bonding agent/glue used in manufacture. This will enable me to fit a replacement.
Does anyone have any experience/advice about how to do so without damaging the screen ?... Read more
I have started a new job and a car comes with it, in a fashion. I can choose any car from Chevy, Ford, Mazda, Vauxhall and Volvo ranges. I get a set amount each month for the lease of the car for 3 years and can trade up or down from that limit by as much as I want for any of the cars available i.e. the Camaro is not available but a Volvo C30 T5 is. There is not a single car in this very long list that I would want to pay my own money for, so I am getting a very base Mazda so I don't have to contribute.
I will keep my Audi S8, I have had it for 5 years and the bills can be a little on the large side sometimes but there you go, it come with doing 25K miles a year in it. Its now 14 years old and over 200K miles but I still love driving it.... Read more
Mines so old, 1997 vintage, they did not have the technology to drill out camshafts at a reasonable cost. The only issue I have if I keep it now is the £1,100 to have the cam belt changed along with the water pump, thermostat and all the pulleys in 10,000 miles time. More than the car will be worth, but I already know I will do it because I like the car; to replace it with a newer one will cost £8K. So onwards and sideways as they say.

I loved my old Rangie and I don't like the new shape (far too big and blingy) so I've bought a 2002 4.6 HSE – last of the P38s. Complete heart-over-head purchase. Yeah something will go wrong and it'll probably break down but I'll enjoy myself while it's going! Read more
I like that. I like the way they look really dominating on the road - I was just followed from the Scots border to Preston by an Audi Q7 and it looks pathetic in comparison to the Rangey.
On Wednesday our car's ABS light came on & speedometer ceased to function.Took it into the dealer, who after inspection announced the ABS Control Box had packed up. As they didn't have replacement in stock would have to order it for next day delivery.
Now Despite our car being just over 4 years old, it still has done only 6,900 miles. Less than the advised 10,000 first year service mileage.... Read more
just getting valuations to calculate the running costs of my car since i have had her for 1 year now, and checked a few including webuy... valuations from web and a couple of local dealers, they were low, but not the lowest, (offered between £4000 and £5900 but seeing the retail prices of cars, some of the dealers must be hoping to make 100% profit.
Quite frankly, it is surely incredible that these web-based outfits manage to be in business at all, I can't think of a more obviously dubious way of selling a car. How does anybody fail to see what a rip-off it is?!
