Key fob will lock, but not unlock remotely - no click. Can unlock manually with key. Car starts easily. Using key fob inside car it will also lock but not unlock. If I Iock it from inside, I then have to unwind window & use key from outside.

For about a year, the passenger door has very occasionally not unlocked with the key fob.... Read more

Thanks for the offer Lucy, I will write to you shortly.

To answer the other questions, the breakdowns occured in years 1-2 therefore the manufacturers warranty is in force but you are responsible for getting the car to the dealers for the repair work....

We visited Westway Nissan Aldershot on Saturday to have a look at the Leaf, which arrive as a demonstrator earlier in the week. We hadn't booked a test drive (all the slots were filled anyway) and joined at least three other interested parties looking at the car.

First observation, it's not quite the size of a Golf or Focus. Interior space is fine, but the exterior proportions seem smaller than the big-selling hatches, perhaps only marginally bigger than a Fiesta or 207. The overall design is very pretty though, in my opinion. Nice to see a car design that doesn't look awkward on smaller wheels.... Read more

Good point of course, Avant. Not only does the electric car influence the way we use a car, but also our chosen place of residence, especially in urban areas. I wonder how many potential Leaf owner in the major cities simply can't own the car because of charging limitations at their homes.

That said, one should remember that rows and rows of victorian & edwardian terraces were never designed for multi-car households, leading to serious parking congestion now . Plenty of people cant even park near their house, let alone think of charging a car there....

Tracked once-a-day belt noise to a crankshaft pulley wobble. This runout seems to be the cause of belt noise in the first run of the day when auxiliary belt is dealing with alternator plus power steering plus aircon.

My query relates to the style of fabrication or mounting which might lead to this condition and whether this is a known/previously reported problem?... Read more

I have noticed my cooling fan comes on after I have stopped the car, even when I have only done a short journey. Anyone any ideas what is happeneing, please? Read more

Unless coolant is actually hot by then I would suspect you have a faulty sensor or relay.

I have a r reg 2 lt petrol mondeo. for as long as i can remember it has a had a very slight hesitancy which feels like a misfire when diving too slowly in 4th/5th and is most noticeable at around 30/40 mph, it has not caused me any real problems and i have never bothered to get it looked at. last week i took the car in to a local garage to be checked over as i had a 1500 mile journey to do. they changed the oil, filter and air filter and squirted some stuff in the injectors to clean them. next day drove the car from cold and it was kangarooing, under powered, though idling ok and with the throttle down the problem seem to clear, but i was in a panic!. took it back and they could not replicate the problem but thought it electrical and changed the plugs. i drove it next day for test run and it was back to normal (minor misfire). did my long drive with no problems but today it is back to the kangaroo problem! which is now worse than ever, massively under powered going up hill and jumping badly on flat though still idling ok but now cant throttle through the problem. It sounds like it is all working as it should to me, based on what you have said. As long as the gauge stays out of the red and the coolant isn't boiling, then it isn't overheating.

I had the the Temp Gauge Sensor Changed also...

I see that from today you can shop online from tescocars.com. All the blurb said that dealers would have reason to be worried. Don't think so,prices don't seem to be any better than any of the car supermarkets, and all you'll get is a lousy 2000 clubcard points. plus you'll have to go to birmingham to collect it or pay for delivery. Shame, thought april 1st was last week. Read more
