New member - first post, Hello.

I have read many posts asking where the OBD link is on Accords. From what I know the OBD port on PRE 2001 accords WAS NOT fitted to the bracket that lives under the carpet flap at the junction of the footwell and upright section of the centre console - that'a where it's supposed to live - but doesn't. Bad news for getting codes as many garages do not have adaptors to use the DLC (Data Link Connector ) that lives under the passenger dash exactly midway (1 x 2 pin + 1 x 10 pin connectors in blue)... Accords of this age can be a mixed bag when it comes to diagnostic socket type and location. The 1.8 engine cars have the 2x blue connectors and the 2.0 engine cars have the 16 pin obd on the side of the console. My fil has a 99 2.0 auto and this is fitted with the obd socket. You may be able to "blink code" for trouble codes by joining the 2 wires in the 2-pin connector.hth

Our '98 Corsa failed on emissions last week. As it is used only as a shopping / local trip car it was suggested that it was taken for a good Italian tune up. This was done just before returning to the test station where it passed.

So if your car is not used for any 'serious' driving this may be worth a try.

Hi Peter. I think you replied to my last thread. I changed my track rod end but I didnt check the wheel for play before I done the job. Once I replace the rod end and put the wheel back on there was some play and a clunk at the 9 and 3 oclock posistion but nothing at the 12 and 6. I have a clunk when am driving and i have replace the drop link, wishbone and rod end. cheers

hi there,

would be really grateful for any input. recently bought on a 51 plate, low mileage 39000 and only did 1000 miles since last mot so sat idle for most of last year. engine warning light came on and local garage said all spark plugs furred up and changed all, reset comp for £93 but light re-appeared next day. took it back and now they are picking up a different fault code which suggests 'burning a lot of oil'??? it seems to be chucking out a lot of white smoke as well. Any ideas? Many thanks... Read more

Hello,

My Nissan Primera ABS system developed a fault, whereby the ABS kicks in for a few miles causing the brake pedal to judder and then the ABS light comes on. I bought a new sensor and had it fitted this week (at an independent garage), but the fault remains.... Read more

Peter, I took the car to the Nissan Dealer, but declined their offer to do the work at £390 for parts, plus labour, plus VAT. They reported front RH sensor to be faulty.

Check the front coil springs regularly. If it's a British or European car the springs fatigue and break up very quickly.

My local service / repair shop say that they replace springs very frequently. I have a collection of pieces that I pick up from the roadside when I see them. Better pick them up by hand than in the tyres.

Hi any help would be great. Have no immbiliser light in the clock at all the car will not start the starter motor does not kick in. I have replaced the ecu, responder and chip in the key which made no difference at all. i left the battery off for 30mins to try reset the ecu no difference. Is there a immobiliser unit somwhere else in the car maybe i can replace that.

thanks bradley Read more

Do you have a CCT diagram. I very much doubt that the starter is inhibited by the immobiliser. You may ahve a wirinf fualt or a problem with the ignition barrel. Regards Peter
