FIAT Bravo and Brava - Fitting Inner Track Rod - squibsquib

Can anyone give me any advice in fitting an inner track rod to a 1997 Fiat Bravo? What tools I need to remove it etc? I have already got the track rod ends off. Thanks

If you purchase the replacement you will have a better idea. They usually screw on to the rack which you have to hold the shaft so you do not strain the rack pinion gearing. Often the tie rod is locked onto the rack with a locking tab which you may have to replace. You may also need replacement bellow clips depending on what you have fitted. Have you check the other side for movement.

As the steering will need re aligning have you considered using you local garage to do this job.

Hi Peter. I think you replied to my last thread. I changed my track rod end but I didnt check the wheel for play before I done the job. Once I replace the rod end and put the wheel back on there was some play and a clunk at the 9 and 3 oclock posistion but nothing at the 12 and 6. I have a clunk when am driving and i have replace the drop link, wishbone and rod end. cheers
