Hi all, can you let me know if you have successfully got your window regulator fixed in Northern Ireland under the 75% 7yrs/100km goodwill scheme? Was it just as straightforward as going to your garage, or did you have any hassle with it? I'm looking to talk to someone who has had it done. If you could PM me or leave me a msg!
Thanks a mill. :) Read more
The gearbox on my wife's 2002 Jazz auto (CVT) with 32k miles has started 'hunting' . Driving at a steady 30 or so, it slows down, then picks back up as though it is changing down a gear, then back up. The gearbox oil has recently been topped up with the correct fluid (it was very low, apparently). Car has been serviced annually by a Honda dealer but an independent dealer suggests the problem might be the gearbox on its last legs. Any ideas? Read more
In the past week I have been driven in two (turbo) diesels; a Passat and a Renault (?). Both of there were around 2l and had six speed gearboxes. With modern technology they seemed quite happy at 30 mph in 6 th . This set me wondering if they are so torquey why do they need six gears? I have quite a bit of experience of “classics” and whilst I accept that three speeds are awkward at times (e.g 100E, Consul) they are quite adequate (apart from motorways) on cars like Zephyrs/Zodiacs and Crestas. I tend to feel that 4 + O/D is about right. So why are these cars supplied with six speed boxes – or is it just to make you want something you do not need?... Read more
It's situations like this that kill DMF's and cost megabucks!

Having read that the manual version of this car boasts CO2 emissions of 117 g CO2, yet can top 140 mph, isn;t it about time that the whole myth of CO2 levels is blown apart?

New member - first post, Hello.
I have read many posts asking where the OBD link is on Accords. From what I know the OBD port on PRE 2001 accords WAS NOT fitted to the bracket that lives under the carpet flap at the junction of the footwell and upright section of the centre console - that'a where it's supposed to live - but doesn't. Bad news for getting codes as many garages do not have adaptors to use the DLC (Data Link Connector ) that lives under the passenger dash exactly midway (1 x 2 pin + 1 x 10 pin connectors in blue)... Accords of this age can be a mixed bag when it comes to diagnostic socket type and location. The 1.8 engine cars have the 2x blue connectors and the 2.0 engine cars have the 16 pin obd on the side of the console. My fil has a 99 2.0 auto and this is fitted with the obd socket. You may be able to "blink code" for trouble codes by joining the 2 wires in the 2-pin connector.hth
I dont have the actual figures but i was told it wasnt even close to be honest.

Our '98 Corsa failed on emissions last week. As it is used only as a shopping / local trip car it was suggested that it was taken for a good Italian tune up. This was done just before returning to the test station where it passed.
So if your car is not used for any 'serious' driving this may be worth a try.
There,s a light that appears on the dash, its orange in colour in the shape of a car
and in the middle there are arrows pointing up + down can anyone tell me what... Read more
I would think this light refers to the self levelling air suspension system.hth
