Hi i have a 2004 ford galaxy about 2 years ago i accidentaly hit a badger which as you can imagine caused fairly substantial damage . The car was repaired via the insurance company and promptly returned back to me . The following day whilst driving the car it filled with a very chemically smelling smoke which came in through the front vents . The car was sent back to the company that fixed it and no fault was found . This has since happened about six times in the last two years with the smoke coming through various places inside the car . Most recently one of the places being the seatbelt guides . The smoke seems to mainly come through the passenger side more than anywhere else and during one episode whilst we were standing outside the car the smoke was seen coming out of what seems to be small hole in the sill . Unfortunately i have not yet managed to get the car to a garage while this is happening . I have been told on more than one occasion that the places i have described the smoke coming from is virtually impossible and the only way to find the problem would be to strip the whole engine out .
I would appreciate it if anybody has any ideas as to what might be causing this... Read more
I have had to get a PSE pump for my 2000 CLK 3.2 and it will be fitted this week. I had never heard of this item 'til last week and it seems it does the alarm and the central locking. Anyone know exactly what this rather expensive pump does? Does it affect the cabrio roof mechanism? Read more
The Pse pump is the electric/ pneumatic pump that operates the central locking system. It does not affect the cabrio roof system directly but is possibly interlinked to inhibit roof operation if the system sees the boot locking operation faulty.hth

Hi
My problem is that the outer edge of the rear near side tyre is wearing a bald band, fronts are good and so is the rear off side so I'm at a loss to whats caused this. I have teken it into two well known tyre shops for tracking checks and both have said nothing can be done to adjust the rear wheel alignments it came out of the factory like it so the best thing to do is change the tyre every six months or when the tyre becomes illegal!... I have a 1999 306 HDI with around 93,000 on the clock. We've had it for several years and do very few miles in it, only around 4-5000 per year these days as it is a second car. It has always been pretty reliable aparrt from a few of the usual French electrical gremlins. Recently I have noticed that it is low on power, almost like the turbo is not working. Having looked around the 'net' I see a lot of people talking about the MAF but I am not exactly sure where this is located or how to remove it.
There are no warning lights showing up on the dash, it starts and actually runs fine but is just lacking it's usual power.... Read more

Advice was there was nothing the driver could do about a penalty ticket for entering a bus lane briefly whilst performing a U turn and was more of a mini rant about the state of the UK and penalty tickets.
The advice should have been that there is plenty you can do, but you need lots of time and patience (2-6 months) to fight a Council ticket and you need to balance this against the cost of a ticket. ... Read more
I haven't read it, but using a bus lane is illegal, it's even in the Highway code. Why would anybody think it is ok to use it? If the person doesn't know the highway code then they should either learn it or stop complaining.
I get annoyed by the number of people who use bus lanes and hard shoulders when they want to make a turn and traffic is heavy.
I have just replaced a brake light on my Tino..when I apply the foot brake the dash board lights up and my parking lights come on..I have taken the bulb back out but the problem remains.. any idea how to solve this issue Read more
Agreed, another possibility is a faulty bulb where the two filaments (5w side and 21w brake) are crossed, had that many years ago.
My hazard switch and indicators dont work - no noise is coming from them ie: relay clicks - tried another (genuine) hazard switch - no difference - fuses look ok - any ideas please?
Also, have been offered Event tyres - clearly a budget option - anyone tried these please? Read more

Had a similar problem with a VW transporter, turned out to be an auxiliary heater, does it smell a bit like parrafin, and did it just start during the colder months. The VW response was to reroute the heater exhaust.
