I recently had complete brake failure while driving in slow moving stop start traffic.
The pedal went right down to the limit & no braking. I ran into the back of another vehicle.... Read more
I have just placed an order for a Nissan Juke Tekna 4x4. At the present time Nissan in Japan can not give a delivery date for this model, but it may be June/July. Currently there are about 190 cars on back order for the UK.
This great looking car seems to be a hit. I was surprised to find, that the cabin is as big as my current Mazda 3 Sport. Yes the boot is smaller but as it is just for the wife and I, it's a winner.... Read more
Nissan confirmed to the Nissan Juke Owners Club - http://www.jukeownersclub.co.uk that the delays are mainly due to the overwhelming success of JUKE worldwide, Nissan are, and have been experiencing parts constraints as a result of suppliers being unable to meet launch growth.
Additional tooling has already been commissioned to increase production capacity. Nissan's supply was further impacted by the heavy snow which fell in the north throughout December, which created a back log into the new year....
The remote central locking has stopped working, and you have to use the key to unlock the car. So far, not too bad. However as soon as you go to turn the car on the alarm goes off! I have checked all the fuses and they are all fine. Any advice? Read more

What effect on engine life will service intervals of 20,000 mls have as opposed to regular 10,000 mls servicing. ?
Impossible to predict. But frequent oil and filter changes is the cheapest, easiest insurance you can get.
I bought a 6 month old ex - demonstrator from a main ford dealer and connected my Blackberry Curve to the bluetooth (as i use the car for work) and was really happy wih my purchase, that was until 2 weeks later. I went out to the car to go to work and found that it would not start, there was some life in the battery as the ignition was working and the radio / lights wer working but it would not start.
I have been told by the dealer it is my phone that is draining the battery of the car and a software update is on its way which will fix this. Since they advised this was the problem i have unpaired any bluetooth device from the car and it has been working ok. Until today when i moved it 5 ft to hoover it out and it started ok, moved it ok. when i had finished, it would not start for me to move it back to its correct parking position. I am now begining to think that it cannot be the bluetooth connection to my phone as it would be impossible for the battery to drain witin 4 mins, especially when the car was off, locked and stationary and it was not connected to any devices!!!... My main car is a classic, which I have had for 12 years. Now I need an up to date car I find I have nil No Claims Discount, so will have to pay maximum for insurance cover, even though I have not claimed in over 40 years of driving. HJ has suggested a muliti car policy for both cars. Any other suggestions. This must also happen when a company driver retires after being insured through the company. Read more
Some insurance companies will give you an introductory discount of 30% & sometimes more, if you can prove that you haven driven regularly for some years.
I would expect your classic insurer to be able to supply you with a confirmation letter of this....
My Ford transit radio / CD wont work.

You could try disconnecting the battery for 5 mins .Are there any other devices wired into radio,eg bluetooth or I -pod?Make sure you have radio code first as I would think this van has a V series radio which may only be available through dealer.hth
I have a V reg 306 HDI Dturbo with issues. It will not start or tick over.
If you spray some easy start into the intake it will start up and you can rev it up all you like, nice engine noise, no issues there.
But if you let it tick over, it will stall and not start again unless you use the easy start.
So I'm thinking it's the idle speed controller, if there is one, or the pump in the tank not working correctly on idle/startup pressure.
I have scoured all the forums and have not been able to find another problem identical to mine. I don't want to go throwing money at it so I hope someone reading this has had the same issues and can help me.
I am in the car trade working in bodyshops with a mechanical background and I have a mate with a snapon scanner. We put the scanner on, cleared all the codes, ran the engine for a bit and then the code that came back was P1404 Pre-heating/Additional heating; circuit 2 - error. Not sure what heating circuit this means - glow plug circuit, interior heater or engine cooling fans etc...??? I whipped off the cover that holds the relays on the fan cowling and one of them had fallen out, plugged it back in and still no change.
I have asked many friends in the trade and I am getting a conflicting difference of opinion with some saying injector pump (hope not) some say the pump in the tank, idle speed valve or air flow meter. Like I said, I don't just want to change everything so hope you can help.

Hi Nicola
I think the reason why there have been no replies is that everyone has the same problem in finding the fault. Logic says though that if it will start on easy start and then run that there is not enough fuel pressure at cranking speed to switch everything on which would point to either a faulty high pressure pump or a sensor telling the system that there is not enough pressure - but not nescessaraly....
Hello
I am having some issues with my Mondeo, it is struggling to start on the first, sometimes second attempt, I have been told this might be either a cam sensor or crank sensor issue.... Read more
Possibly. But a modern engine reduces enrichment very quickly after a cold start. The extra fuel consumption is largely due to the extra friction of cold parts. THE OP is reporting a 50% increase in consumption. The engine must be suffering driveability problems at this point. Does it stumble, hunt at idle, white smoke from exhaust...?

Had a similar thing happen years ago. Rear brake pull off spring had weakened so one brake was binding. The brake fluid (or more likely some water in it) vapourised and the brakes failed. Once it had all cooled down normal braking was restored.
I would get all the brakes checked over again and see if any are binding or if you have any hot wheels.
