Kia warranty is 7 years/100,000 miles, compared to Hyundai which is 5 years unlimited mileage. For a high-mileage driver doing more than 20,000 miles/year, the Kia warranty will expire before Hyundai. Hyundai also includes 5 years roadside assistance. Read more

Regarding the 'Suicyclist', while the cyclist should have noticed the car pulling across, in the strict interpretation "The official" rule is in the Highway Code - GIVE WAY to traffic already on the roundabout, or approaching from the right, UNLESS road markings/signs indicate otherwise."
Now, the stationary driver should not have signaled the driver to emerge from the road on the left and they should not have done so without looking first.
I suggest that the female driver mentioned would be lucky to get blame attributed at 50/50, despite the cyclists putting themselves in harm's way.

Similar, but on a rather different scale, I was reading Jay Leno's page in an edition of Octane magazine. He relates an incident of an elderly widow getting in touch to see if he would be interested in buying her late husband's old Ferrari. She knew that $400k was a lot of money but her husband had told her it was worth at least that. Jay phoned her and ascertained that it was a 275GTB, told her that yes he would give her the $400k, but the car was actually worth at least $3 million!. Put her in touch with an auctioneer he knew and told her that if it made more than $3 million he'd expect her to make him some chocolate chip cookies, which she though was fair!.

The car made $3.75 million!

I really do not see the point of this apart from making people lazy, and being a hackers toy, you cannot use a mobile when driving but you are allowed to use this app from up to 6 metres away Read more

If you check, the Uber example wasn`t a software fault or hardware glitch, it was software had been turned off, ie, the cars own safety systems were turned off in favour of the autonomous software. the info is on the internet if anyone needs confirmation, but thats how I read it to be ...

I pre purchased three genuine HPI checks recently, valid for 2 years, after using the second one the automated system told me i had used all my checks up, this within three months of purchase at the most.

I've contacted them twice via the live chat contact thingy on their site but had no replies, i've now given up bothering and won't use them again, didn't find the site especially easy to use which didn't help.... Read more

Hi all. I need to get a bigger car to replace my Hyundai i20 (14 plate) due to a growing family. Practicality is key, so a big boot is essential. Budget 5-7k ideally.
I like the insignias but there are a lot of high mileage ones, 100k plus and not sure if those are too risky to buy?
Any advice welcome. Read more

Having had good experience with many years of three reliable Audis I would probably go for one of the many A6 Avants available in your budget range. If you only do 10k a year you can take a risk with a high miler. If it's done a well cared for 100,000m without problems, there's a good chance it'll do another 50k/5yrs for you, if not more.

Germany delaying EU policy paper emissions target enforcement dates is enough evidence , there are other occasions where the EU has done what Germany desires when it comes to vehicle related policies.

Where is the evidence that the emissions target was a dictat?

Isn't it far more likely that change was result of horse trading involving other matters?...

I wonder how the high number of nicks compare with accident rates compared against mileages covered.

So the old bill are hot on issuing fixed penalties, that doesn't necessarily mean they have the worse drivers, it could simply be more enthusiastic coppers, statistics only....
