I had a car accident recently and am currently going through the process and I'm looking for opinions on the outcome.

I am going through his insurance as a non fault claim. The photo uploaded shows what happened.

Im the black line, i was coming out of the petrol station across the junction into Kneele Gardens, the third party was coming from Kneele Gardens, which was on a green light (he says) at the time, and turning right on to the main road across my path. The traffic light is a normal red, amber and green.

Last month I was in Looe in Cornwall. Parked in coucil run pay and display. The notice board next where payment was made clearly stated a fine would be imposed if cars were not parked wholly in a marked space. I think the fine was £100. Not a problem for us as I always make sure of parking correctly. Returning to the car I noticed a car parked badly, with an enforcement officer taking a photo and sticking a fine on the windscreen.

If only this procedure was carried out in all car parks across the country. ... Read more

I always reverse in to park and drive out forwards ... ever since soon after passing the test a child ran behind my car as I was backing out of a bay .. being a child reversing lights meant nothing to them, being a cold wet dark evening with limited rear view visability I was doing the best I could in the circumstance. It was some years ago, I was 17 or 18 at the time, very upsetting incident indeed.

(Aso only buy car with rear window wiper as it makes driving in the wet so much safer) ...

Volvo's heritage is estate cars, that's all the XC40 is.

Engine stalled whilst parking and would restart but would not rev. Just ticked over at 500 RPM. After several re start attemps the engine responded finally with full throttle whilst cranking. Any ideas welcome. Regards Peter Read more

I know that arguments about tyre brands tend to get a regular airing here, and there's probably little to add to what's already been said. However, being a bit lazy I'm not going to do a search, but just ask the question anyhow.

My Jazz has so far had 2 new Michelin Energy Savers, at 76 quid a pop, to replace both rear tyres which had extensively cracked sidewalls. The front tyres are not quite as bad but I'm going to replace them anyhow.... Read more

The Michelins have only been on the rear wheels for 500 miles or so, and my original plan was to put the the Mitch-shod wheels on the front and have new Avons fitted to the rear.

However, I've decided to follow the consensus of advice and go for Michelins all round for the many good reasons already posted above. ...

Presumably they are now in a position to validate it using the MOT history.

The Caterham insurers used to send a form with the renewal that had to be filled in with the mileage, signed and sent back....

Towing a car, usually for some distance and at moderate speeds, is completely different to slipping a car out of gear for a few hundred yards at most.

I THINK my favorite UK coast (A83 from the top of the "Rest and be Thankful" pass down to Arrochar) is several miles long (havn't measured it) and I know it can be done the whole way engine-off if you don't have (or can do without) servo-braking....

Why was the lorry in the outside lane of an almost empty road and presumably with a slow speed limit? If he had been in the oinside lane the car dirver could have overaken safely. It doesn't excue his action particularly beaking in front of the lorry, but I wonder if anyone had a word with the lorry driver? Read more

Sadly this what we have to accept with people that drive Audi's. The worse driven car of any type on the road today why would anyone want to have an Audi all it says about you is that it is a company car and I will drive how I like !
They now make BMW drivers seem like saints.

Tata nano offers a very cheap alternative. Why would some one buy such an expensive battery car.
