The Mazda I-ELOOP has nothing to do with starting the car. It charges on the over-run, in about 8 seconds. The stored energy is then used to run car electrics. If the car has not been used for some time a warning note comes up and the note will go away after a few minutes of engine running

RC's wallet should work to prevent accidental button presses as well as keyless entry: the Faraday bag should work on any type of signal used in remote keys as they are all electromagnetic waves. This includes infrared, microwave, radio wave.
It therefore doesn't work as stated.
My son is travelling to the US, he’s going on a road trip with some American friends who live there. They will be using their car, and we are confused about the legalities and want to be legal.
Son has full uk licence, he’s 22.
I’m told the insurance is different over there, something about the car being insured not the owner, which suggests he can drive their car.
Is this in fact correct? Would he be fully covered?

Might I suggest you contact teh american embassy and ask them, or dvla, they can tell you the right info, please be careful there are lots of people who think they know, but don't and taking there advice may get you in hot water, so contact the authorities and ask them, you might even try going or calling the non emergency police line and ask them, see if they can help you, I call them quite a lot if I am not sure of anything, and I cant find the info on any reliable source.
Ps it may even vary from state to state, i dont know. And I am not too proud to say that as I would rather say that then give you the wrong information....

Hi guys, I’m new on this forum and would appreciate all your help!
My sisters streetka failed it’s MOT on various bits and bobs, most important being that the brake pedal creeps to the floor under pressure.
I started with the obvious and used my eezibleed kit to bleed the brakes, no air came out whatsoever and fluid looked like new. My next step was to get a second hand master cylinder online, I noticed when I bench bled the new(ish) master cylinder that once is topped up the reservoir it started coming out both brake line holes almost immediately, as if I didn’t need to bleed it at all. Is this normal or do you reckon I’ve been sold a dud?
Either way I put the new master cylinder on, bled the brakes again and went for a test drive. The brakes are much more responsive and it doesn’t feel like the pedal creeps half as quickly however I still have the same problem. If I press the brake (with engine running) twice the pedal sits firm about half way, however just once and the pedal creeps down.
I assume the brake booster is fine as when I take the hose off I can here a rush of air.
Could it be ABS module?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Forgot to add, no fluid loss from the master cylinder and can’t see any leaks! Read more
"Usually do" sounds a bit of a stretch. MOST scrap KA's have faulty master cylinders?Seems statistically VERY improbable.
Not talking about KAs but if a car has a known problem or weakness the chances of the scrap one having it too would seem to be quite high....

I used to get my learners on dual carriageways as soon as they could steer and change gear properly - so not such a big thing if you have DC's in your area, if you don't, it's going to be a bit of a culture shock for them! Read more

I realise it is an individual judgement however I am interested in collective wisdom. I have read in too many car reviews that wide pillars lead to worrying blindspots.
Is there any data on collisions caused by blind spots ?... Read more

Perhaps ECOTY needs a new category, "European Car-Without-Potentially-Lethal-Blindspots Of The Year" as this trend is not going to go away anytime soon!
In 2009 a guy called Chris helped someone with an immobilzer problem. (thomp1983) I need the program that gives you the 4 digit code as I now also have the same problem. Any ideas where I can download it from?

Spare a thought for the folk due to collect their shiny new 18 plate car today. I am on train and have just passed many dealers with snow covered cars, no doubt some of these will be new for delivery today. Having recently picked up a new car, if it were me I would refuse to drive beyond the forecourt. Read more
