March 2018
Due to the recent bad weather. I've found it very difficult getting around.we have a Jetta 1.4 automatic. Had to dig it out of the Snow the other day and it was struggling to go up inclines and such. I'm wondering if fitting Snow/Winter tyres for the winter months would be an idea or possibly look for a second hand small 4x4

In my review of my own UC I mentioned that the car seemed to occaisionally follow camber. It also felt 'nervous' needing a lot of small correction inputs. The tyres were all Korean budget makes and came with the car.
I had the tyres at exact pressure and they had good tread. The steering knuckles etc. and the tracking had all been checked and were good.... Read more
Engineer Andy (and all who gave replies) many thanks. Tyre wear and deterioration are vital considerations. I've replaced tyres at 4mm simply because they had lost wet grip to an appreciable degree.
All seasons are getting better, I looked at Michelin Cross climate but saved £40 a wheel by buying the Klebers. I personally don't think I would have gained much by buying more expensive, but then I drive a relatively light car with an economy biased engine / drivetrain....
Bus was very well driven. A driver that knows what they are doing and was able to respond to a situation with out panicing.
Very well done. Read more
Great piece of driving, IMO. Reminds me of watching Finnish bus drivers in their wintry conditions.

I'm not too familiar with that car but as it's not a welded hinge I's suggest geting both parts from a breakers.

Agreed, Mrs Smileyman is not driving either ... and neither is Mr Smileyman who did not fit winter tyres to his new car so decided to leave it parked up at home and as a result has been entertained by the delights of commuting with Southeastern all week, including this morning's 2 hour wait on the way to work followed by a return to starting point - the result of a broken down train near Canterbury!
March 2015 new car registrations were the highest for more than two decades with 492,774 vehicles hitting the road three years ago.

The tester seemed surprised my washers weren't frozen when I had mine MOT'd on Wednesday.
Some of us do use washer anti-freeze....
lol, isnt it amazing that mate that a simple rules causes so much diff of opinion.
I think that the discussion is polarised because the lack of a front-facing dash cam (why do you only have a rearward-facing one, BTW) means that people are making their judgements based on what they think of (and tone of) your statements, not just of this thread, but also on others, where some have been less than sympathetic with your viewpoints, plus they may also think you have something to hide given the lack of a forward-facing dashcam in favour of a rearward one....

Thanks for both of your comments. That helped me decide to claim.
My gfs car has stoped working, it wont start, shes only had it for 2 months, its had 2 new batteries, first issue she had was sometimes when you took the key out the car stays on 2nd issue was the passanger seat belt warning light comes on when no one is sitting there, then the car wont start, took it to a garage they said it could be the ECU so it got sent off to be checked, it came back and it was fine, they have done loads of scans but cant find the fault??? 1st instinct giving that "it stays on when the key is removed" is the ignition switch is faulty.

I second getting Michelin’s cross climates on my CRZ. Have had them a year and they are quiet, comfy and in recent conditions have been most reassuring.
