Good Mornig all

I bought a NON Runner 308, I Checked the Usual & replaced the Usual after a full service, when the car was bought the previous owner has had the same problem, he was told it was the Pump Solinoid, I replaced with new, new Peugeot Filter etc, Filled up the filter before replacing, battery full of charge, car started & ran for about 20 mins the pettered out,the car will now, not start I was told there was no pressure to the Injector line, I towed the car to a local Diesel Doctor, after a week due to people off for hols I ran him yesterday to be told that there was a Fault within the wiring loom that has caused a NON Sigal getting to the ECU to reduce the fuel lines pressure????????? my Question, the car is a 2008, done 58000, is there cause for a warrantee Issue with peugeot? I have never heard of this before, has anyone on H.J. Heard of this? has anyone had this fuel problem? I would be very happy if you could advise me, I do my own repaires but this Issue has me stumped.... Read more

You bought a non working car that is well out of any warranty (3years out of warranty). Hopefully the price reflected that fact.

Now if I understand this correctly you want Peugeot to fix it for you FOC....

I have been glad to have Insurance4carhire behind me on trips to Australia to visit my daughter. Now she is coming to UK, but they cannot offer to insure her as she doesn’t not reside with the European economical area (sic). Are you aware of any other organisaition that could provide her with similar cover?

Best regards,... Read more

I don't know about Aus but some UK based annual travel insurance policies are starting to offer CDW as an option, might be worth a look.

I have a April 2012 A160 purchased in April 2013. For 6 months or so I did not notice there was rust under the drivers seat ie on the seat frame work and on the supporting rails attached to to the floor. the passenger seat is not effected. Mercedes is refusing to rectify the rust ie claiming not a manufactoring fault. It may be that I will have to remove the seat and fix it. Question, where did this rust come from, has any one experienced a similar fault. I am adament that this rust must have been there on delivery. I have not carried exposed water or acid on the rear floor.

Any advice most welcome... Read more

If its only surface rust it may have appeared overnight,if it has paintwork it may have been scratched, cars get damp overnight and rust appears,

if its on the rail/runner try greasing it, assuming its on the inside of runner,(it should be greased anyway as its a moving part when seat adjusted)

Your recent video clip showing how easy it is using a tyre repair kit instead of changing the punctured tyre with a spare wheel completely ignored the biggest disadvantages, apart from what you have to do in the many cases when the sealant not work you failed to mention that once the sealant has been used it is very very hard to get any garage to clean out your tyre to fix your puncture so instead of a £10 repair it will cost you a new tyre. There's progress ! Read more

I've recently bought a newish car with gloop and compressor in the boot. I was surprised to see the gloop should be renewed every three years. Instructions also state the glooped tyre should not be used for more than sixty miles and then a new tyre purchased!

I coughed up for a space saver and jack kit, although I don't know where you put the punctured wheel as it won't fit the boot well.

Success! Swopped the immobiliser (easy), chip in key fob, key buttons, BCM relay, instrument unit and ecu. So have saved £160+/key. No programming needed. The only thing is the car has gained 24k miles instantly. Cheers

I haven't bought a 'new' (as opposed to 'used') car for quite a long time so I suspect that in the interim things have probably changed. If I were to select, say, a new Peugeot 308 would the dealer have to order the car from the factory or is it likely that he would have a few different models in stock from which I could choose? Or is the reality that there are now so many variations of trim, accessories and colours that vehicles are only built to order? Read more

While I agree with the negotiating tactic, why would you think it's acceptable to lie to the dealer. By all means negotiate but try and keep it all in good faith.

Thanks for the recommendation. It showed up 2 codes, p0036 which bank one sensor 2 heater circuit which seems to have sorted the temperature gauge out and a p0170 fuel trim malfunction bank 1 which could be O2 as you said.

Please please please can someone help - I have a problem with my car over revving, it has happened now about 5 times, and it has been into Peugeot for a week, and they cannot find the cause of the problem, even though they have witnessed it happening. It is quite scary when it happens - when I have stationery or slowing down, its as if it does not want to, and keeps revving on its own, even when I have my foot on the brake. I have had the AA out once and they followed me to the garage (Peugoet, as he recommended), and he thought it was a over run valve??

I have today discovered (which could be relevant), that it seems to happen when its raining (sounds strange I know), but when I think back, it has been raining each time its happened, and part way into my journey when it starts - it is fine in the dry whetehr??... Read more

Sadly this is nothing new. Luckily there's a very good knowledgable community of 407 owners at www.407owners.com where just about every issue with the 407 is well documented.

Join up and post your problem there and I'm sure they'll be much better than Peugeot.
