Vauxhall Vectra C - 2002 vectra c sxi 1.8 - mdevil3
Hi guys. I have just got a 2002 vectra sxi and the emission light came on, then 2 days later went off, came on after about half an hour went off the next day then came back on after about an hour. Any ideas?

Yep. Go to ebay spend a tenner on a U480 scanner. Plug it into your car and your car will tell you the problem. It will also allow you to reset the fault. Most likely an o2 sensor my guess. The u480 is a great bit of kit for peanuts .

No problem. Take it to a dealer and a diagnostic would be 50 quid up. So one use and it's paid for itself and some.

Thanks for the recommendation. It showed up 2 codes, p0036 which bank one sensor 2 heater circuit which seems to have sorted the temperature gauge out and a p0170 fuel trim malfunction bank 1 which could be O2 as you said.
