Hired a cactus diesel for a week whilst on holiday and the fuel economy was good but there is a lot of wind noise on the motorway. My current car is a Modus, so I'm not used to a new posh car. Read more

have an intermittent problem with my 2002 peugeot 307 1.4 petrol.
at around 2000rpm it begins losing power. easing off the accelerator sorts things out for a few seconds then the car starts dragging back again. this goes on until i have to drop down a gear, and then another gear until i can't go any further.
the engine doesn't quit and after dropping through the gears will idle perfectly and from idle i can rev it up to max without a hitch.
it seems as if the engine is failing under (slight) load.
the problem my happen twice in 100 miles or not. leaving the engine off for 10 min or so and all is back to normal. the next time the problem occurs could be in another 100 miles or 700 or whenever it feels.
any ideas anyone? Read more
What mileage is your on?
It could be a few things but would be irresponsible of me to suggest or recommend anything without getting a diagnostic check first. ...
My daughter's Fiesta Flight managed to shed its glass sunroof on the way to the MOT station - now I cannot find a replacement. The car, an immaculate 1.2 Flight of 2001 vintage is a joy to drive and in great condition. It went through the MOT without problem but the sunroof glass seems to be smaller than usual. I went to several breakers and te sunroofs from Mk3 Fiestas are too big. Methinks now someone fitted a non genuine one but it also conforms to the size of an earlier Ford sunroof Type D. The Fiesta is a now a fair weather car but winter is coming ... any ideas of where I could find the right glass? Read more

Had a nosey at the new smart and smart forfour today. For four is now a for two which is streched and has a rear seat, rather than a rebadged four seater of a different car altogether.
Far from a looker from the outside, but typical smart inside and apparently will be available in 800 colours.
Engine under the boot floor and rear wheel drive with a proper gearbox could make for fun driving. Read more
