I would NEVER have another CVT, I had one where the bands snapped and smashed the gearbox case. Never again.

I am currently in the process of finding ten steadfast souls to join a syndicate, with majority agreement on which game to tackle. If it`s the Lotto then it will be conducted using their own syndicate format which can be operated to contain a legally binding component.Maybe the lotto is the place to start until we get a few wins under our belts? All members will have all relevant details emailed to them prior to each draw.... I strongly suspect that, like most gamblers, the OP is in denial. They remember all the wins, but the losses get forgotten about, or are 'anomolies', or some other excuse.

If you've got to advertise amongst total strangers for people to 'invest' in your 'system' then it says a great deal about what people who actually know you think about your wealth and amazing profits from the 'system', you'd think they'd be forming a queue outside your door to get in !...

My 20 year old Audi 100s4 has done 98,000 miles and is well maintained. Over past 3 years the engine has cut out on the motorway a few times at irregular intervals. All power is lost and the car sometimes restarts immediately but other times it does not and needs to be towed. It has been with Audi dealers and specialists and no one has been able to eliminate the problem. Possible causes such as dirt in throttle housing and replacement of crank shaft sensor have been addressed. Any advice or thoughts on possible causes appreciated.

With an Audi of this age,you could be looking at fuel pump /fuel injection relay issue.dry solder joints on the relay circuit board can cause erratic operation and engine cutting out problems.

My gearbox warning light started flashing and the car went into limp home mode. Any help or ideas would be grateful Read more

Do you mean engine warning light?only the auto box versions will have a gearbox light, and I don't think I have ever seen a tdci with an auto box.

what is the service intervals also how many miles befor alt belt needs changing Read more

elekie&a/c doctor

There is no service interval replacement for the poly v belt.provided it does not get contaminated with oil ,then these easily do 100k miles without any problems.if you can see any cracked ribs, then this may be the time to re-new it.

According to the latest "Which?" car reliability survey, the 2008-on Renault Megane is near the top of the list for cars up to 3 years old, and still holds up well when over 3 years old.

Auto Express seems to be the only magazine where an Audi can win a group test over a BMW. Either that's for the reason Snakey suggests, or possibly they have some testers who don't judge a car only on how it performs on twisty B-roads.

My Aygo's aerial is too long for me to get in and out of the garage as it catches on the up and over door.
Would anyone have any recommendations on a shorter replacement please?
I've seen the little Beesting ones on Ebay for under £4 and wondered if anyone has tried these at all?
Thanks.

Ha! Am managing a couple of stations with no aerial so should be ok for my daily work runs.
Thanks again.

I hit by another car causing damage to my car. She is claiming that she did not hit my car. It was where two lanes go into one. She tried to push down the side of my car after her lane had ended but the was no space. I was in the now single lane and she was straddling the the double white line heading towards oncoming traffic. When I was aware of her proximity to me I tried to avoid her but braking and moving as far over as possible. This resulted in me clipping the curb (buckling my front passenger wheel) and she still hit my drivers wheel arch damaging both cars. This dishonest woman is claiming she never hit my car and the damage to hers was done in a previous accident. She fled the accident leaving us to follow her for over a mile thus preventing us getting any witnesses.

My car is a MK3 Mondeo, the other parities car is a Corsa C. The damage to my car was a caved in and scratched wheel arch. The damage to her car was minor, her plastic wheel arch was deformed and half hanging off. My insurer sent a Engineer to look at her damage and said looking at the damage to my car he thinks its unlikely her car did it as her damage is minimum. A part from the fact I know she hit me I think the damage is consistent as its no surprise my metal wheel arch caved in and her plastic wheel arch designed to take impact just popped out. Are there any cleaver/experienced people on here who can tell if: In a Metal wheel arch v's plastic wheel arch scenario if it normal for the metal wheel arch to cave in and the plastic one to pop out?... Surprising how many people will come out with a bare faced lie, often after admitting responsibility at the time. I couldn't do it. You can only conclude that a lot of people have absolutely no "moral compass".

As for getting the details...in 1999 I was clipped and the car didn't stop. I followed it for a mile or so, easy to follow, but it was going at a silly speed on a narrow bendy road and I was afraid there would be a massive accident so I noted the number, went home, and rang the police....

As with anything new, this is exciting and nerve wracking too. I look forward to being able to just jump in a vehicle and tell it where to go to and can then relax, (and with all of our modern gadgets, be able to use them on the journey). As the only driver in my family I have to do it all so being able to relax, would be wonderful. But relying totally on the technology to get me and my family from A to B especially from City to City, would take a bit to get used to!!!!!! Read more

I think there'll be a long time between autonomous cars arriving and cars losing their steering wheels. Owners will get the choice - they'll be able to drive manually or if they're tired or bored or have a long journey ahead of them they'll be able to get the car to do the work. It doesn't have to be black or white.

I appreciate this is a bit of a lengthy post, but any advice is appreciated.

ferrari - appreciate the situation in which you were speeding ( not quite as much indignation), and that you acknowledge that it was still wrong.

On your main argument fully understand and accept your arguement. However, it probably will not make any difference in court. Less stress not to contest especially with little likelihood of success.
