Hi forum members - this is a request for help - thanks so much for taking the time to read. I'm looking for old film/home movie footage from Vauxhall Viva enthusiasts - for an art project. Would be amazing if you could recommend any groups/individuals who might be able to help or might have footage of their Viva's or have collected footage over the years? Thank you. Especially keen on finding footage of: Vauxhall Viva HC (1970 - 1979) Read more

my son recently nudged the rear of another car which braked sharply to avoid another motorist. The damage to the other car was very slight scuff to the bumper and the driver seemed unconcerned.

Same kind of thing happen to me. A minor bump and the other party claimed all kinds of damage rather than the small hole in the bumper . The other car was parked outside my sister inlaws house on a very icy day, so you can guess what happened.

Had they not taken this p*** i would not have pointed out the the lady was past 30 weeks pregnant ( i guessed that). This was in it's self not an hard and fast rule, but as it turned out the doctor had tolder her not to drive due to complications. So it backfired on her....

Talbot Matra Rancho - A mate of mine had use of one around 1980. I seemed to remember it looked quite good, had very soft suspension and a typically clattery chrysler engine.

It was of course only 2 wheel drive, but we went offroading in it and it seemed fairly good at it.... Read more

The closest I ever got to rolling a car - on several occasions - was driving a Rancho - the over soft suspension and top heavy wide fibreglass body on a narrow chassis were not a combo built for stability!

Universities also have higher numbers of people carrying books around than most other spaces, that doesn't mean number of people carrying books in universities has surged ahead (indeed, it's likely to have dropped recently).

Yes, the fact that the Kangoo is at #2 suggests that there probably are internal combustion engined vehicles being replaced by electric ones. However, institutions with lots of grounds populated by pedestrians are likely to have had an electric vehicle fleet to begin with so we'd need previous numbers to know whether the headline about them 'surging ahead' has any validity.... Unless you are in a position to get one of these paid for neither make financial sense to a private buyer. The Jag at less than three years old with 20,000 or so miles will be mid £30k.

The £30k saved over an ex demo one more than covers an extended manufacturers warranty and a private plate and in a couple of years you will get back half what you paid.

The future of the Toyota Avensis is in doubt after the automaker's Europe boss said the mid-sized model would be excluded from the company's plan to offer hybrid versions of every model sold in the region by 2020.

"Do we plan to introduce an Avensis hybrid? No," Didier Leroy told Automotive News Europe. "Do we have a plan to introduce in the next five to seven years a hybrid model in the mid-sized segment? The answer is clearly, yes."... Read more

SUV's etc are also popular due to the extra ground clearance many provide which helps with the ever more ridiculous speed humps being installed by our anti car councils.

Many cross-overs and soft-road SUVs have little more actual ground clearance than conventional saloon/estate/hatchbacks - despite their styling....
