Hi, not used a forum before but here goes, a couple of weeks ago i took my peugeot 407 sw 2.0 hdi in to have a new dual mass and clutch kit fitted, on return the clutch was great, but the engine has now lost power, struggles to get to 70mph, I took the car back to the mechanic and he did a diagnostics test and did find a possible fault with the turbo, but could not pinpoint the exact problem. Its going to have another looking at. odd as it seems, but could fixing the clutch have altered anything electronically, or otherwise? Well, an equally odd idea, the folding steel roof, found its way onto various production cars!
Well, good luck to them, but I won't be buying until they bring back a 9-5 estate with a decent engine.

There's plenty of badly thought out designs out there. Like the landrover defender and the work needed to change the turbos.

It's very noticeable that around N Hants the white line markings are deteriorating to such an extent that at night they are practically invisible. Centre markings and in some places junctions have alost disappeared, is it just round here or are other places the same? Read more
Maybe this is why people seem to "need" to fit ever brighter lights. I'll stick with my standard lamps though. I've found a way that obviates the need for super bright lights, I slow down a bit if I think I can't see.
Is there not an onus on the council to maintain road markings? If not, I think there ought to be, or prepare to defend the decision in court if they don't.
I have recently had the pleasure of travelling around much of Scandanavia and noticed the lack of 4x4 vehicles in comparison to the UK. Off course everyone has winter tyres with many of them studded (allowed between October and March - I think) and I was surprised at how effective these are - even on rear wheel drive cars. Saw loads of BMWs and Mercs getting around with no problem. Most Taxis in Norway seem to be Mercs so they clearly work well with winter tyres. Once again confirms the view that 4x4 are nothing but a status symbol to many people - although I do appreciate some people do need them for their jobs such as farmers etc. This struck me when I was reading the HJ review on the Insignia Cross Country and thinking what a pointless car. Probably because as mentioned above people think they are unstoppable in a 4x4 even when they haven't got the skill or know how.
I witnessed a stereotype 4wd accident some years ago. Shogun exited the A47/A140 roundabout heading southbound A 140. The road was wet and slippery, typical minging winter road conditions. I was about to enter the r'about from the previous minor u/c road. The shogun passed across the front of me and signalled left to leave r'about, I then followed it onto the r'about. As it was leaving the r'about the back end snapped to the right and the the driver panic braked, and it slid into the kerb of the central divider and overturned coming to rest on it's side. I carried on and did an orbit of the r'about to come back to the incident safely, female driver, vehicle full of kids all screaming etc. Nobody seriously hurt thankfully, no other vehicle involved....
just been to court today to fight a 30mph speeding fine (44 mph in a 30). I had lots of evidence photos/video to prove that I had a good case. I did not realise that this was a pre trail hearing and was told that if i plead not guilty I could be fined up to £1000 if it went to trial and lost.
I felt scared at the thought of losing so had to plead guilty.. fine £300 and 5 points.. can I appeal the fine and points ...? wish I"d paid the fix penalty. ... Read more
yep.. lesson learnt..
Please can anyone tell me how to remove & replace a heater control fascia. It all looks a bit flimsy and I don't want to force antyhing and break it Read more
Why do you need to replace the panel?
I'd also agree that something hasn't been put back correctly.
A Planet diagnostic might shed more light on it, assuing that your mechanic is using a generic fault code reader:...
