Can't use a suspended tow on an untaxed car that isn't broken down.

Is there an alternative to helium? The short answer is no because it is an element. The real question should be is there another element that has the same properties as helium. I hope so. Because it occurred to me a while back that helium, although one of the most abundant elements in the universe is a very limited and finite resource here on Earth and it should not be wasted.
This topic has now actually come up in the news and scientists are concerned about the waste of helium because it is a special gas and it is used for industry, science, and medical purposes and when it is all gone those things will be affected and that is very bad news. So using it to inflate party balloons is not smart because once released into the atmosphere it just floats away into space.... Read more
It is incredibly expensive stuff - my entire PhD was based on the physics of helium...ballons containing it fill me with rage.
hi, my 51 plate vauxhall astra G's engine management light is on. ive been on holiday for 2 weeks and ive just gone to my car and the light is on. i dont have a clue what it is for and i NEED HELP PLEASE Read more
The light is on to tell you that any one of thousands of faults have been detected by it's onboard computer - you need to get the diagnostic codes read which will help identify the problem.
Vauxhall dealers will carry out diagnostics but be more expensive than a good independent, who in turn will be more expensive than a mate who already has a diagnostic code reader.
Hi,
I have the above car with a 2.0 petrol engine, I have been looking round for a replacement back box which has twin tailpipes which exit the box through a cutout in the bumper ( the existing backbox has twin exit pipes which bend down to the road).... Read more
- all my subsequent cars had exhausts made so well they'd easily outlast the cars.
That's partly because the cars have little value after 10 years and are mistakenly thrown away in the prime of life.
hi people my next door neighbour. as really peed me off. for one we have never really got on. they are very jealous people. short story. there daughter had crashed her car . they ended up getting there bonnet and front bumper from the srapyard just to make there daughters car look abit better differnt colour. i poped out with a family friend in there car. when my car was on my drive . i get back and the wife says they have been using spary cans on there car next door. first thing ive thought any cross wind with spray cans is a no no. so ive just give my car a good going over and found a few liitle spots on the roof. and on the black strip going over the roof. my good wife recorded there daughter with the spary can in her hands. , im of to the garage tomo to get a quote from ford to sort my roof out. can i take them to court to get them to pay for the damage. just another quick question how do i go about takeing them to court and how much will it cost me?
heres some pics of the chav neighbour and damage to my car... Read more
Just a simple question, where is the ST250 when the neighbours cars is being sprayed, I cannot see it in any of the photo's.
Nissan x trail, 2009 tekna 20.000 miles so still quite unused. I have owned it about 3 months now. it is from a dealership so it is under warranty.
I just parked the car up a few hours ago no prob and when i returned to it, i unlocked it, sat in with keys near, pressed the clutch as usual and the switch wouldnt turn, as i tried to turn it, it made a click noise and the green key icon flashed but the switch wouldnt turn. I tried it as an ordinary key but it wouldnt turn. I even got out locked it manually and unlocked it and did the same again with the fob. I had to lock it and leave it there in a well lit area and get a taxi home.
Plzz does anyone have any idea what could be wrong
Thank you
Pat

First post, hello all. I've been offered a c-max 1.8 duratec petrol which has a few issues. Messages 'brake light fault' and 'engine systems fault' when the car is started.
I've plugged an obd2 reader and originally had 3 codes, 2 of which I've sorted (dodgy coil connection and a broken cooling fan control wire)
The third started as:
P0571 - Cruise Control/Brake Switch 'A' Circuit Malfunction
So, I investigated the two switches on the brake pedal. I removed them both and checked them with a multimeter.
The top blue and white push to break switch was fine, the brake lights work ok.
The black lower push to make switch also worked ok.
I refitted both switches with the brake pedal in its home position and reconnected the battery.
Cleared fault codes and started the car, this time I get code:
P0703 Torque Converter Brake Switch B Circuit Malfunction
If I monitor PID 'brake pedal' on the code reader, I get a correct on/off reading when the pedal is pressed. This stops if i disconnect the wire to the black switch. So the switch and its wiring is ok?
So, any ideas... Am i doing something wrong refitting the black switch, is there a calibration procedure? Should I just change the switch anyway?
Another query, there's a whine from the throttle body when the ignition is on, I've recorded a video of the noise:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnwgbyKgT70 Is this normal?

just bought a vauxhall omega 2.5 td gls automatic s reg 1998 can anyone tell me if they are a reliable motor? there is a problem that i am trying to sort out but can not seem to get any where recently i at to change the clocks in the car as the rev counter needle and the speedo clock needle stopped working the speedo needle just kept jumpping abit that side is sorted . but since i have replaced clocks the problem i have got now is that the ignition key will start engine no problem but when i come,s to turning the key to the off position the engine stays running and the alternator light cmes on but once i turn key to on position light will go out i have bought a brand new ignition switch and changed it but it is still the same. mmmm confusing but if i press the break in and then turn the ignition key off the engine will stop. is there anybody out there that can give me some advice it will be very much appreciated look forward to reply. The only problem I know of with that engine is poor or non existant hot starting, its due to pump wear but there is a mod that gets around it by fooling the ECU into thinking that the engine is cold for a few seconds while it starts and increasing the fuel input. Otherwise apart from their very poor low speed torque they seem to have few problems.

Perhaps these are aiming to cash in on those for whom English is not mother tongue.
