Always liked him, sort of a working class hero of the time, wasn't a luvvie.

Enjoyed the Professionals a lot as a young(st)er chap, obviously t*** when compared to later more gritty programs but enjoyable even now on the re-runs....

Hey, wondered if someone could help me.

I have my MOT booked in tomorrow on my V reg 1.8 Ford Focus

One of the reg plate lights was out so I pulled the cover down to replace it, stupidly with the lights on. Saw a spark and a fizzle and they went off.

At the same time the beep beep signal that the door was open with lights still on also went off, and so did the rear lights. Dashboard lights are also off, not sure if they were before or not. I took the reg plate bulbs out and they looked blown.

Front lights, brake lights, hazard, indicators etc work

Tried checking fuses, didn't see any obvious problems but not sure if I even checked the correct ones.

Any suggestions? Could it just be all the bulbs blew? Thanks Read more

I'm out this evening so I'll have to take a look in the morning.

I looked through the owners manual at the fuses but me being a bit dim on the car/technical front I couldn't figure out which fuse name applied to that part.

Couldn't see any reference to rear lights on it

Please find attached the details I am about to send to the garage detailing the issues I have had. I am considering rejecting a nearly new vehicl bought with only 3,600 miles YE12GCY. Would your advice be to reject the vehicle as I am feeling worried something has happened in its short life which is not surfacing?

Thanks for the information - you learn something every day! The point about press cars is well made: it's the job of journalists to drive test cars to their limits.

SWMBO is on her fifth Mini - this one a Cooper Roadster - and loves them, but for many and varied reasons I'm glad it's a Cooper and not a Cooper S.

Hi I attempted to change my radio only to find the one I had didn't for, my original radio won't work now, just says code on the screen can anyone help?
Thanks Read more

You need to give the serial number of the radio.

On a label on the top or side of radio case, you will need to pull it out of the dashboard sufficiently to be able to read the label....

i have a 2001 n16 1.5 petrol almera that i think the timing chain needs replacing(strecthed i suspect- bad idling, rev counter flicker throughout rev range, light on dash, bad on mpg) ,its a mint car and only for that i wouldent even think about doing it,i would just scrap it!!

This engine has more than one timing chain in its set up, to replace them is a quite long complicated and expensive job.

I have recently bought a 55 plate vectra 2.2 sri, it has the z22yh engine in and I seem to be having issues with it. The issues are, the car tends to start without an issue initially, it will then idle perfectly for around 30 secs and then becomes very lumpy and dies, sometimes it will restart and if it does it continues to run lump, when it initially starts and runs for 30 secs I also can't touch the accelerator pedal because it then also runs very lumpy and dies.
Now I bought the car as spares and repairs claiming it to be a fueling issue, after spending a fair few pennies on replacing high pressure fuel pump, fuel regulator and fuel pressure sensor and fuel filter the issue still remains, I have measured the fuel coming to the high pressure fuel pump and when running it constantly stays at 4 bar which indicates no issue with lift pump. I decided to ask the neighbour for his OBD to try and see if there were any faults. Now stupidly I decided to clear the codes before taking them down ( rookie mistake I know ) but this is what came up, initially it said high voltage input to fuel pressure sensor, high voltage from MAF, low voltage from MAP, throttle management malfunction and high voltage throttle position sensor. After clearing them no faults then came up which is very confusing because clearly there is. I then checked the instrument control and it came up with 2 codes ( this time I learned ) code u2105- no communication to the engine ecu and code u2117- no communication with info display, I then cleared them and again nothing came back.
I know I maybe jumping to conclusions here but I believe the issue to be with the engine ecu as I can't see all these sensors failing at once, the only issue with that verdict is that I am still getting a love reading when it runs. I would appreciate your views on this, I'm in two frames of mind at the moment weather to send it to a vauxhall specialist to see what they say but obviously that's more money down the drain. It was running between 5000-6000kpa on idle, fueling is alright but it dies like its fuel starved but it's not which makes me think it's more electrical.

Sounds like a poor quality repair ,time to walk away .unless it can be bought so cheaply that you can have the proper repairs done.

I don't think I would get involved . There are thousands of ford ka,s available ,so why bother with this one ?
