B. You might find if you replaced the "I wanna know" for "can anyone help with with my query please"? .........that you'll engender a better response.

Sorry, can't do "V" Ford radio codes. You won't get a "V" code for free, I'm afraid....
I have a DIY Kamasa 2 ton trolley jack bought from Costco about 20 years ago. It's provided very good service, but it's starting to leak from around the piston seal. I could of course just scrap it and buy another; what appear to be identical or very similar jacks are available from ECP, Machine Mart and a host of other places for around £25 - £30. Or I could try re-sealing it. Does anyone know a source of seals? Read more
There's usually a solid subframe aft of the engine block for lifting the front end. Back ends can be less substantial. I use a scissor jack at the reinforced point provided on the sill, padded with a rubber exhaust hanger.

oil leak or no oil leak,I would avoid the 3cylinder engines in VAG models at any cost. They are nothing but problems.hth
I think that's a bit harsh.
Sure, they can have problems (what engines don't?), but mine has done 130,000 without any major issues. The only thing I've had done on the engine is had the timing chain replaced and I've had it from new....
Are there any cars out there that normally run in two wheel drive but can be switched to four wheel drive for the occasional bad weather days. This would avoid the cost of permanent four wheel drive. Or has development over the years brought better economy for the 4x4 car? Is there much difference now in running costs? Read more
We bought an Outlander 1 partly because its permanent 4WD, similar set up to Subaru.
Its more or less Mitsi's version of Forester, no low range simple straightforward full time 4WD mated to a lovely smooth auto box....its heavy on fuel (23 average) but fortunately its LPG'd, i would not consider one of these if petrol only and the later Diesel model didn't come with TC auto option....
I'm looking for a second hand family car. And am struggling to decide between the Ford Mondeo Estate and the Skoda Octavia Estate. Price wise, the Octavia seems a little more expensive, but is slightly more economical and a little smaller. Am looking at diesel in both cases, and around £6k mark generally with about 80,000 on the clock.
Is there anything I should be considering? DPF Failures etc?
Any help would be gratefully received. Even after a day spend at Car Giant I'm none the wiser!
Thanks so much. Read more
You do not say how many miles a year you cover. I would find a petrol variant if you cover less than 15,000 miles a year. Problems can arise with PDFs on some diesels if you are not using regularly on decent runs.
I know a few people who have encountered this problem with Diesel engines fitted with PDFs.
Myself, I have never had a problem with with these, but I do cover in excess of 30,000 miles a year.
Just got the renewal notice and taxed the car from the comfort of my armchair, as the advertisement says,
Quick and almost painless except for the money side.... Read more
Cars that are zero rated still require a tax disc and you have to go through all the procedure I suppose there is some logic somewere.
