Vauxhall have removed the 3 door BiTurbo from it's catalogue despite taking orders and deposits for it and yet none of the mainstream auto websites are reporting on such a climbdown.

To save me the trouble of jacking the car up and removing a wheel, can anyone tell me if a 205/55/16 tyre and hub can fit in the boot wheel well intstead of the smaller 50mph spare.
Many thanks in advance. Read more
My 55 Zetec s TDCI randomly cuts out when turning left in hot weather. The panel says its a steering fault, refer to owners manual but after two minutes or so it starts again and off I go.! Did it twice today, ten minutes apart after an hour's driving. Temp gauge, all indications normal then ...dead. I read somewhere this may be a dashboard fault (under the dash heating up in hot weather?) HELP! Read more
Take the car to a Ford dealer and have them run live diagnostics, that should throw up an error code or two and help find the root of the problem.
We have a ford c-max 6 years old with impending engine failure due blocked oil ways in the engine. This has been picked up in a second opinion inspection. Our Ford Dealier has failed to get the the cause of the problem which resulted in the yellow engine warning light coming on. Before this in Feb, we asked Ford to check why the oil ligt was coming on for a few seconds randamly and not evey day. They suggested it was not a problem to worry about and suggested we took car back in June. Then a week after the service , the turbo value was stuck open which was then repaired and then a month later the turbo solinoid was replaced. Then in early June we had jerky gear change and engine warining light. The AA suggested usng the diesel cleaning fluid which solved the problem. We asked Ford to check it over anyway just to be sure and low and behold we are told the problem is complicated and after £400 of dianostics this week we were told they cannt find the origin of the problem They suggested an turbo change or new engine. This in inself is an unsatifactory response by FORD.
What can I say after spending nearly a £1000 since feb we are faced with a 6 year old car that we cannot afford to repair. I know that this problem with has been highlighted and Ford are aware. Surely their Brand cannot afford for this to happen to loyal customers.... Read more
Ford oil pressure switches used to be notoriously unreliable. And whilst it's out, it's easy enough to put a pressure gauge in. Everyday job years ago when I was in the trade. We didn't charge £400 though.
Has anyone used the Halfords Air Con service?
I used the Kwiffit one - half price inwinter.
Booked on line....
Hi! I'm new to the forum and need some help deciding whether to keep my car or sell it and 'move on'... It's a Ford Focus Hatchback 1.6 Ghia [115] from 2006 which I bought in October last year; the current mileage is 59.000.
Since I bought it, it went to the garage twice for repairs, first in January for a blown head gasket (when I asked to have a new timing belt fitted too) and recently, again, for a thermostat replacement. Now I'm becoming sort of 'paranoid' wondering what is going to break next! And since we'll need an extra car soon anyway, I'm thinking maybe it would be better to sell the Focus, add some money and just get 2 used cars instead? Or keep it (but get a waranty for it) and get an extra 'cheap used car'? I don't know...... Read more
I would joing some of the previous posters and say thta if the car is performing better after the repairs then keep it.
I bought a used MK3 Ford Mondeo 2.5l petrol from a back street dealer. I liked the car then I discovered the alternator was on its way out. I had that replaced and everything seemed ok....
Currently on Vodafone pay as you go. Had a text message from them this week stating they're making changes to the charges from 1st August and the text included a website link - http://www.vodafone....id=rdr-12123-02
Basically Vodafone pay as you go is moving from charging by the second to charging by the minute, and the website link talks about making 'pricing simpler'.... Read more
Vodafones mass giveaway to shareholders has to rank as one of the most depressing wastes of money in modern times.
Whilst my car is in pieces (blower problem) - thought it might be a good idea to get round to putting in the handsfree kit (job I meant to do since I got the car!!)
I am looking for a simple (i.e one control panel, not a box with buttons/seperate screen, or large controller), so that it is less obtrusive when fitted.... Read more

Has anyone else suffered with the knocking noises on the back of the CC?
My 9 month old CC has been to the dealer twice now with a knocking noise from the rear, they now tell me it cannot be fixed and I have to put up with it,.... Read more
It was the caliper holders I am told, they changed the ones on the second vehicle as there was wear in them, after 9 months seems a bit omnious they are wearing. They have changed the shock absorbers which seemed to fix it for a while but its come back. Now VW technical are saying the noise is the design of the vehicle, at £30k I dont think anyone would accept a vehicle that rumbles at the rear going over slight bumps in the road.
The dealer is usually very good, I have known them for 5 years the same staff and they normally look after me but they are baffled and cannot do anything else with VW support who dont seem to want to help....
....you feel stupid asking :(

"The whole thing started when I replaced the tyres. "
That could be a clue then. What size and make of tyre did you take off and what size and make did you have fitted....

The 3-door GTC is available, just not with the BiTurbo engine.
