All those little engines with turbos stuck on them are like ticking time bombs without proper care and maintenance.

Someone forgot to tell Scania, Caterpiller, Cummins, Wartsilla, EMD cont'd ad nauseum that turbocharging diesels is 'unreliable'. Curiously enough, truck engines have a B50 time of 1,000,000+ miles-even with DPF.

For Light Duty use, a boosted engine will far outlive its naturally aspirated equivalent which will spend the majority of its life at little more than a fast idle with all the assiciated problems of bore glazing and wet stacking.

The Bi turbo is going to cost Vauxhall considerably more than a single turbo to produce, but doesn't deliver that much extra performance to really warrant the cost. It's probably not a very high priority for Vauxhall.

I'll eat my hat if we do not see issues with the Ford 1 litre triple in a year or two.

Well, after all the hype Ford are not putting the 1.0 egoboost in the Mondeo (after promising that is was good foe 200+hp and was the future of motoring etc etc.). So maybe it has found its limit.
