Dear All
So, a 3 year on-going claim with Zurich after the theft of my Lamborghini, Zurich claimed that because
I had bought the car as a company vehicle, through a company I control, and applied for the insurance the insurance personally,ie not company car insurance, then Zurich could claim that I had no insurable interest in the car and so they did not have to settle my claim for £170,000.
Nasty and grossly unfair..and the Financial Ombudsman found in my favour...that I do have an insurable interest, and hence a valid claim...so thats the three years to date... This isnt what Zurich anticipated clearly... now Zurich have written to me,in no uncertain terms, stating that my claim is fraudulent and that I am a criminal conspirator involved in deceiving their insurance company for the money. The car was found to have been a cloned car, made 'genuine' by the DVLA ,who registered the car, the criminals managing to do this through the use of correct looking though non-genuine documents. With these the car was then bought by an established independent supercar dealer in the south..and I bought it.It would not be a huge leap to believe that the car was then stolen by the people that cloned the car.
That a so-called giant of the insurance world is prepared to make unfounded allegations and treat their insured in such a way is disgraceful. To their further shame, they have now decided to cancel the policy and wipe their hands of the matter. I dont think so Zurich, Back to the Financial Ombudsmen Service we go.
And time to breathe the oxygen of publicity onto your behaviour.
So if you are considering handing your insurance premium over in the expectation of a trouble free claim in the event of something dreadful occurring...in the light of my experience, maybe think more carefully about who you would insure with. Read more
a few months ago started developing a running issue where on a run and on dual carrigewaywould temporarily pull back for a few seconds then correct itself (light flashes up at time). Then went to Lutonairport a month ago and 25 miles into 100 mile journey did it again but didn't correct itself. drove 75 miles under 2500 revs. when got back inafter pick up, fault had corrected and drove allway home with no problem. Sunday did the pull back thing twice with my wife during day and after she finished work in evening wouldn't start. lights on dash but half heatred grunt then nothing. tried jump start no wroking, then charge battery and tried again yesterday with no change. Any ideas as i've lost faith in this car now! Read more

So build a new (rather good) regional shopping centre, near to 3 town centres, plenty of free parking, and don't forget to charge anyone who parks in the tranditonal town centres .... no wonder the local shops are shutting ..... even Mary Portas cannot change the situation - welcome to Margate! (and Broadstairs and Ramsgate)
Is it a "real" automatic or one of those which the manufacturers call auto, but is merely a manual with electronic gear change, or one of the elastic band type called CTV or something similar? Read more
So does your car influence your choice of music? I changed my Ford Kuga for a Citroen DS5 4 months ago. I'm listening to a lot less rock and a lot more chilled ambient music. I suspect a Skoda might lead to jazz or a Merc (but not AMG) to classics. Any thoughts? Read more
I have always listened to heavy metal and classic rock in all of my cars, although Radio 2 is creeping in more and more.....
Hi All, I have a 911 with a private reg and I have just brought number plates from http://www.gbshowplates.co.uk/.
They are really good but my mate said you can't use them on the road.... Read more
SFAIK you are only paying for the right to use the plate. If you abuse the T&Cs you get a warning and a second offence gets that plate recalled without financial compensation.
Hi there.
Apologies for the frank nature of this thread but I will try and be as factual as possible to get the point across. Bought a used fiesta Zetec 1.25 (56 plate) two weeks ago. It's only done 38k and has been serviced every year by Ford. Lovely little car but as I have previously driven astras and vectras this is taking some time to get used to. Wen driving at speeds of 50mph plus I have noticed a hum on the engine (sounds just like a vroom, vroom, vroom repetitively) the radio drowns out the noise but as this noise is a repetitive one should I be worried? I'm thinking I am used to driving 1.8 litre cars and it may just be the fiesta's make up but would like some advice from you lovely people!!

Depends on the car in question but Parkers generally makes the car owner feel good in reality its not much use.
Can anyone help please? Wife has a 97 Astra, for the past couple of years its been cutting out when in heavy traffic when the temp gets 100 and wont restart for about 5 minutes then providing there are no more traffic delays it runs fine again. Just wondering its an ecu issue as the management light comes up before the engine cuts-out, have flushed the rad and car dos'nt run hot normally, have taken it to the local garage but their laptop dos'nt show any problems, any Ideas guys ?
