I am trying to fit a rear view camera to my ix35 .The camera replace one of the number plate lights. The original just clips out and the bulb and fitting are replaced easily. But with the camera I need to pass the video cable through into the inner area. The plastic panel (which looks like part of the door) has a series of nuts that are easily removed but the panel still reuses to release. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else holding this panel in place, so that I can complete my task.
Thanks in anticipaction Read more
Hi
Did you have any luck removing the plastic fitting on the outside of your ix35?...
Hi I'm hoping someone can educate me please?
I do a lot of mileage (avg 60 per day) for work and I'm in need of a car to fit the family, dog and camping gear in that's also good on mpg and insurance. I've also only got a couple of thousand to spend.... Read more
for the money you are spending i would be more concerned about the condition of the car than brand or MPG...a one owner well cared for car is what you should be looking for,,,,,,,
As many of you will have realised I spend some time and about 4-6 trips each year abroad and rent a variety of cars. I usually travel with my family (so five of us with three growing children) and over the years we have rented something as large as a Kia Sedona to something as small as a Mazda 2 and we have all fitted in with greater or lesser amounts of luggage. My last trip was solo (to our holiday apartment) so I had a Peugeot 107.
We are back again and this time its a brand new Astra. As with most of the cars we rent, we are given 1.4 - 1.6 engined automatics unless the car is much smaller or larger (e.g the 107 or Sedona). The reason is that the local car tax rules favour such engine/gearbox combination.... Read more

Hi
I bought a Peugeot 206 on 15th March 2013. The advert (ebay) said: "I put second hand speedo clock on it as the existing one stopped working it shows150,000 miles but has only done 85,000 miles". He had the car a year and had no paperwork (MOTs etc) from the previous owner. I took a friend who said the engine sounded good and so we took it in good faith that this was the case as per ebay advert.... Read more
sorry to be blunt, but you should have steered clear of this car,,know its going to cause you loads of stress,,plenty of other cars out there,,,,,,,,,,

No diagnostic codes.... Have been told both cats ie. whole exhaust system needs replacement..... Is it right that this wouldn't / couldnt have been noticed when service checks carried out..?...

I've been having this unusual problem with the Vectra. Traction Control is engaged under these conditions: 1. when gear shifts to R, 2. when braking hard 3., when cruising. These TC problem does not happen when car is cold but only when normal engine temp 90 degrees celcius is reached. I have changed the fluid and probem persist. What coulld be the problem? Read more
I was driving along and the alternator clutch pulley seems to have sheared in half, snapped the belt and the engine is sprayed with fine irom filings. The only warning was a light buzzing or vibrating noise for a few minutes before. Then the stop and battery light came on.
So, the pulley is still attached to the alternator but tabout half of the ringed or ridged section has gone. What would cause this, is it a common fault and does it mean my alternator needs replacing?... Read more
Check to see if the one way clutch has seized, I suspect it has and this is the cause for the failure. Regards Peter
Today the above message has appeared intermittantly along with the battery warning light. Am I right to assume it is likely to be the belt which is slipping because it has become a little slack? Read more
The 1.6 tdci has the epas, the 2.0 may not have. There are a few variations,so you need to check under bonnet. However, the fact that it is showing a message on the info panel tends to suggest it does have epas.hth
Sounds very much like the speed resistor faulty. These incorporate a thermal circuit breaker which has probably failed ,possibly due to the motor drawing a little too much current with age.hth
