Some of the radio buttons on my car have a surface imperfection, this manifests itself as a crinkled surface, it looks to be a manufacturing fault.

I have just tried to buy a car from a dealer in Liverpool. The car was a 2009 Black 320D SE The car was advertised with full service history, 53700 miles at £9700, which I thought was a low price. Working on the old adage, if something seems to be too good to be true, that would normally be the case. Before driving over to see the car, I did an HPI check and discovered the car had done 132,000.
I phoned Cheshire Police to report this potential fraud. They did not want to know saying this was a matter for Trading standards. I am very unhappy with that response and the fact they would not deal with a crime. I will write a letter of complaint to the Chief Constable. I also tried calling the police in Liverpool, they were much more helpful, took all the details and said they would follow it up. They also said I should contact trading standards, which I intend to do.... Read more
As Liverpool isn't in Cheshire, I don't think we should be too critical of the Cheshire police.
Lambda is within spec (0.97-1.03). Probably just an aged cat.
Hi all. I have a 5 year-old 220cdi. One of the wing mirrors won't retract [I have electronic retracting mirrors - the driver's one won't respond but the passenger side will]. Has anyone else had this problem?
Powerfold failure is quite common. All sorts of reasons why - corrosion, burned out motors, stripped gears and more.
Both the major European mirror manufacturers have significant warranty returns on powerfold mirrors. And they are expensive to replace too, all manufacturers charge an arm and a leg for them especially if they've got indicators and puddle lamps fitted as well. And heaven help your wallet if you've got those new lane change cameras fitted to your mirrors as well!...

They are saying that can remove it and there will be no problems in future. Does any one knows about this company or have removed DPF? How is it? Any help much appreciated. Read more

Honest John himself posted this today in answer to a question.
"I have commented scores of time on this.
DPF removal is illegal under EC Type Approval and Emissions regulations because it modifies the
car not to meet its certified emissions on the basis of which it is taxed.
The fact that VOSA in the UK does not currently enforce this in the MoT does not mean that it will not
in the future. Nor does it mean you could not be stopped in a roadside VOSA check and have your car taken off the road for not complying.
If you don't disclose the modification to your insurer your car is automatically not covered (though
3rd party damage has to be).
And, if it felt so inclined, HMRC could pursue you for tax evasion.
So anyone thinking ore removing their DPF needs to be aware of the potential consequences"...
We were members until around 15 years ago when we moved too far away to make it worthwhile. Costco will be opening a new branch in Southampton next month and whilst not exactly local, is close enough for me to reconsider membership.
Has the quality of the offering changed much? Apart from the cases of baked beans and other branded household items, their products were usually of good quality - we still have the garden furniture bought 20 years ago.... Read more

Agreed - it's my daughter's corner shop.
Iwonder if you could advise me please, having bought a new Jazz in December from Marshalls Honda Hull I asked the garage yesterday on passing that way, if it was possible to polish the car and what would they recommend, as the literature states "No waxing or polishing required for two years".I do not want to invalidate the benefit but it always looks a bit dull to me .

if your able to do this yourself would recommend using a clay bar on the bodywork followed by a wax or polish and finish it off with a sealent .,,hard work but worth it,,
windscreen,,as above clean with glass cleaner,,,do not like rain x myself,,,worth trying a new wiper blade though,,but if its not clearing on the passenger side is this really a hazard for the driver ?...
