Gentlemen! Just wondering what you do when you encounter a squeegee man at a corner. I'm starting to get really annoyed with them, to the point where if I see one up ahead I'll turn off the street I'm on just to not have to deal with them. Any creative solutions? Read more

I've long been a critic of motoring magazines printing beautifully crafted computer graphics images of forthcoming new models, based on informed guesswork. The CG images are often presented with equal validity to real photos and are sometimes almost indestinguishable from professional shots of real cars,

But the guesswork is often wrong - but, hey, customers will have forgotten about that by the time the car comes along! ... Read more

Thanks for the help guys.

As you saw in the video, when the engine starts the engine, ABS and traction control lights stay on for about a second....

Does anyone know how to reset the ECU without using VAG-COM or other diagnostic software? I'm wanting to clear the "learned" values (apparently it's a self-learning ECU?).

I've read online that disconnecting the battery does nothing as the values are hard-stored - anyone know if this is true or not?... Read more

Thanks - thought this was the case.

I've had a new exhaust fitted as the previous one had a massive hole in it. Fuel consumption was awful with the exhaust with a hole in it, it is slowly getting better than it was (must be re-learning), but I figured I'd reset the ECU to help it along a bit....

Hi, I was involved in an accident where a van pulled out of a side street causing me to collide with him. A copper arrived within seconds although didnt see full incident but 3rd party said his piece and the copper agreed that it was likely his fault. I have had my car repaired, hire car provided and 9 sessions of physio attended since the accident 3 months ago. It now transpires the 3rd party is disputing the claim saying i overtook a vehicle who was letting him out of a side road causing me to hit him, obviously a pack of lies and the insurance now saying they have an independent witness. There wasnt one at the scene which the copper can confirm.

Does anyone have any idea on whether the 3rd party have to agree to physio through accepting of liability and or of hire cars too ?? ... Read more

Just an update incase anybody is following this thread, i have now received a letter off my solicitor asking for written permission for them to start litigation against the third party. I expressed a concern a few days ago that things were not happening and i felt threat of court action was needed due to it being 4 months since the accident.

I brought the car home on18th of march loaded bikes in hatchback overnight ready for 6.00 am start came out boot open all bikes stolen!! Battery again flat but this could be boot light draining battery Mazda said they didn't know what caused it as its never happened before but if look on internet there loads of different posts Mazda say theywill check it out again! when new fobs arrive. As you can imagine I am not impressed although I have had three previous mazdas with only minor problems.I have always used this agent in the past with good service. Read more

I keep getting a warning sign showing on central information display that there is a abs brake fault when I start the car but nothing shows on the instrument panel on the dashboard.

The warning goes off as quick as it takes to read and doesn't come on again, the car has been into the local Ford garage for a full check and they cannot find anything wrong.... Read more

TotallyAnnoyedWith Fluxdirect

I recently had prior to my last renewal insurance with Adrian Flux, who were great. Friendly, helpful and professional, no problems., I have this year changed to Fluxdirect and have received the WORST service imaginable, rude and arrogant staff that even called me a liar when I tried to change details with them. All they wanted to do was requote the policy to get extra cash out of me, would not let me cancel without extra fees, demanded and re-demanded documention at the start of the policy despite having provided it on 3 separate occasions and are now starting to play the same silly games mid way through the policy. I am joining all the forums to warn fellow enthusiasts who love their motors and who are genuinely honest consumers of these extremely expensive policies, DO NOT USE FLUXDIRECT. THEY WILL COST YOU TIME AND MONEY, you may also loose your patience and possibly your sanity. Has any one else had similar experiences with them? I dont appear to be the only one peeps. Are these con artists really related to Adrian Flux ltd?. Read more
