Various - Worst insurance company tales - TotallyAnnoyedWith Fluxdirect

I recently had prior to my last renewal insurance with Adrian Flux, who were great. Friendly, helpful and professional, no problems., I have this year changed to Fluxdirect and have received the WORST service imaginable, rude and arrogant staff that even called me a liar when I tried to change details with them. All they wanted to do was requote the policy to get extra cash out of me, would not let me cancel without extra fees, demanded and re-demanded documention at the start of the policy despite having provided it on 3 separate occasions and are now starting to play the same silly games mid way through the policy. I am joining all the forums to warn fellow enthusiasts who love their motors and who are genuinely honest consumers of these extremely expensive policies, DO NOT USE FLUXDIRECT. THEY WILL COST YOU TIME AND MONEY, you may also loose your patience and possibly your sanity. Has any one else had similar experiences with them? I dont appear to be the only one peeps. Are these con artists really related to Adrian Flux ltd?.

They say insurance executives are much like sperm. Every one in a hundred thousand has a chance of becoming a human being.

I had a similar problem with esure a few years back, I insured a bike with them which was sorned at the time over the winter. Reading the blurb that they sent me it said that the bike had to remain MOT'd at all times. So rang them and said that the MOT had run out and I needed to take it to the MOT station and was that all right? Absolutely not they said, under no circumstances are you to to ride the bike to the MOT station. Oh - said I, how I am I going to get an MOT then? You will have to put it on a trailer it they said. After my usual response to nonsense like that, which ended with the word "off", after which they threatened me with involving the police for threatening behaviour, I cancelled the policy and informed Barclaycard that the company had sold me insurance which was no use to me and could I have my money back please. After a month or two of the usual to and fro I got the money back from B'card and resolved never to have anything to do with ESURE ever again.

I had an issue with Prudential (RBS/Churchill insurance). Here's my tale of woe.....

Had an accident driving home one evening in February where a lorry failed to give way to me on a major roundabout. Although it was a low speed impact, 40ft lorry vs Citroen C2 is never going to turn out well.

To cut a long story short my car went to their approved repairer, initially told it would take 2 weeks to repair. Then came the promises to return calls, which never materialised. 2 weeks turned into a month and so on. Basel Fawlty at the garage constantly fobbed me off,

Two months later I get the car back. Door scratched, paint rubbed down to a matt finish, poor panel gaps, rattles, engine management light came on, radiator hose unclipped. Turns out they had had to straighten it out on a chassis jig and it was a border line total loss. If they had been aware of all the issues at the start they would have written it off.

It went back a further 3 times to the bodyshop, Pru did not want to know. Eventually I got an independent engineers report done and then part ex'd it. 2 years later, on the eve of going to county court the third parties insurer finally capitulated and settled fully in my favour. Would not go near them or their approved repairer again.

To cut a long story short my car went to their approved repairer,

Clear message - exercise your right to use your preferred repairer. It will usually be much nearer you. If you don't know of one, ask around.
