To my horror I recently put petrol in my diesel mini and drove it until it died along the M1. I read your recommendations and rang the rightfuel people. After speaking to them at length I bought one and realised quite quickly that it was completely useless! .......It was too big and I couldn't successfully close the outside flap. So not giving up I used it without the cap. However that wasn't successful either. The pump kept cutting out and what little fuel I did get into the tank just came back out and covered my skirt and shoes in pungent smelling diesel. Not great when I am off to a business meeting!....... Read more

I own an Exclusive (automatic) 04. Yesterday the accelorator stuck at (racing) high revs 3 times; once with my grandson in the car. Thankfully I was going under 30 mph; put into neutral and turned off engine. Put on hazards and drove into kerb.
Took to garage today; they've done diagnostic check but report nothing wrong. A mechanic is driving from/to work to see if it goes wrong with him.... Read more
One possibility is the throttle cable might be catching in the outer sheaf. A completely new cable would need fitting.
Otherwise suspect the Idle Control Valve.

If your thermostat is faulty the engine temperature will be reading low, very low this weather. Did you bleed the heater after you replaced the matrix? You need to disconnect one heater pipe and keep filling the header tank until coolant comes out of both ends.

By now many will have experienced the stuttering glide along snowy sideroads when trying to brake. I have driven on snow on many occasions since passing my test in 1967 and my work frequently necessitates driving on minor roads and sidestreets. I think I could stop more quickly before ABS was imposed upon us. It's no good being able to maintain steering capability if there's an inevitable collision ahead!

Only time you'll usually stop quicker than ABS is in falling snow where locking a wheel piles up a wedge of snow in front and slows one more that way.
A really skilled driver will properly utilise cadence braking when traction is poor, but most of us don't do it well enough to better ABS....
I have a 2008 Nemo. Got in it this morning and the engine management light was on. drove it fine but noticed it missing slightly throughout the day. engine management light eventually went off but came back on again this evening whilst out driving. it drove fine to begine with but about ten minutes into my journey it started missing and the revs fell until the engine cut out. left it for a few mins and restarted ok but engine management light still on? Any ideas would be much appreciated :-)
