Yes again another premiture spark plug falier the original spark plug from ford 1 year left on 3 year warranty with proven full service history by ford. number 4 cylander bore is scored short block required £3000 to fix i have been fighting for my cause since not having my family car since 11th december 2012 got price dropped to £2200 by kicking off in the service centre if ford have know confidents in there spark plugs then they should be replacing them every year for the three year period of the gaurantee.
I said to the service manager that the only time they know that a spark plug fails is when it blows an engine at a cost to me and he just shrugged his shoulders and said yes. ford spark plugs are not even looked at untill the car has reached 37500 miles so this is a premiture failer and we all need to get together and fight for the small fish. When a spark plug fails then it just causes a miss fire unless in some cases the spark plug breaks up and damages and marks the bore and pistons which in my case has NOT happend.... Read more
I'd be interested to know if you had any success in getting Ford to pay for the repair?
I have just heard that premature failure of a spark plug has done a lot of damage to my engine - yet to hear full details -despite Ford servicing history and the vehicle mileage being only 21,000 and that my extended warranty won't cover it. The vibes are that they expect me to pay....
Travelling from London to Scotland and back again over the past couple of days, I haven't been able to avoid gritters pebble dashing my paintwork. They drive in the motorway middle lane making it impossible to pass without receiving a pasting. Not only that, the lorries in front of me threw up grit onto the screen, Then trying to clean the screen to see through the salt, grit lying on the wiper blades had made some nice scratches on the glass.
So for my sins of attending a funeral, I have scratched paintwork. Scratched screen and a couple of chips from the larger grit pieces. I understand gritting at night with temperatures at or below zero, but when my reading is 3 degrees during the day, cant the gritting be done with a little more consideration for peoples property when its actually icey.... I've often wondered why road works can't be done on the roads when I'm not using them.
And, when I'm travelling by train, why can't they cancel the train after the one I want to catch?...
We purchased a Vauxhall Zafira for £6,500 back in September 2012 from JPH Autos in Wootton Wawen. Sales staff were friendly, the showroom looked professional, as did the website, we felt we were making the right choice with the car we had just purchased.
How we wished we had checked online reviews of this company, as we would certainly not gone near them!... Read more
Just looked at their Website. Their warranties are by a 3rd party company called VGS warranties which is always a get out clause for gargaes. But the SOGA is there to protect you.
A friend says that the washer jets on his Xsara are fan jets that spray the whole windscreen and are very good normally, but they freeze every cold spell. He has to stop the car and squirt on water fon a plastic bottle. Has anyone solved this problem ? Read more
I've never found the Focus heated water jets to work once it freezes outside. The jets sit proud of the bonnet which leaves them very exposed.
I spray windscreen de icer directly onto the washer jets of any car I intend to drive that already has frozen washer jets, it clears them fast.
I received an APCOA "Parking Charge Notice" yesterday relating to being seen picking up or dropping off outsife of a designated parking area at Luton Airport 29/12
The fact is, my car's engine failed 10/12/12, and was recovered from the M4 to my home where it has sat on my driveway ever since, undriveable. Having had a mechanic confirm it is beyond economic repair a couple of weekends back I have even suspended the insurance policy and applied for the SORN to get the tax back - both of these actions were taken last week and the APCOA notice was received yesterday.... I'm with DVD on this one.
Advise APCOA of situation with your car. Does the recovery report confirm the nature of the breakdown - if so consider sending them a copy. Express concern as to possibilty of cloning and ask for more details of evidence eg CCTV or parking attendant's report.
hi, im hoping someone can help me. in 2007 i surrendered my licence when i was having some mental health problems. by 2010 i was much better, was told to slow down and stop taking medication by my specialist, and discharged back to the care of my GP (from mental health team, not a hospital or anything).i have not had any mental health issues since, and do not take any meds. i have not seen the specialist since.
in september i reapplied for my licence, and have just been told by the DVLA that my licence has been refused, as my GP says i am not complying with the specialists recommendations, as i am not taking my medication. i confirmed with the specialist yesterday that i should not be taking it. he told me it says that clearly on the "discharged back to the care of GP" letter he sent to my GP.(which he faxed me a copy of). in his words when i spoke to him "you're fine now, you can drive".... So there is conflict. The Consultant states that you are fit to drive. Your GP says you are not and on his word DVLA are relying.
Under Sect 94(5)(b)(i) Road Traffic Act 1988 DVLA have the power to have you submit to one of THEIR medical people for an assessment. Might you consider advising DVLA of the current conflict twix Consultant and GP with your evidence and ask them to arrange such a medical?...

I am almost certain its a standard double din size many different types can be can be obtained on ebay and have many more features then your radio sat nav.I recoment those products produced by a company called Erisen would work out very much cheaper .You could of course find a good ICE shop and get a price for your radio to be repaired.
Hey guys,
Two weeks ago someone using my passat inadvertently put 20 litres of petrol into the tank. The car was not started. A mechanic was called who attempted to empty the tank of petrol.... Read more
hey guys,
Thanks very much for the sound advice 659, Peter & jc2. Its greatly appreciated. To be quiet honest I would go back to him with the car if I had indeed any faith in him to be able to repair it. Not being smart or fool hardy, but just the truth unfortunately. He would not have been on my call list in such a situation....
Need a bigger car due to recent new arrival in the family. Currently driving a small 1.4 petrol and looking to move to something with a lot mor eroom in the back and a much bigger boot. Do about 9k a year and will mostly be driving in and around the city. Not overly fussed on any particular badge, all recommendations welcome. We have a budget of around 8-10k.

Citroën C3 Picasso, extremely practical, cheap to run and they are excellent value. Being a city dweller you'll be pleasantly surprised how well it copes with road humps. It has a nice high driving position for pulling out of junctions, similarly the high rear seats makes loading/unload babies and grandparents a doddle.
