How many workmen does it take to paint five Olympic rings on the road?
Now that is unfair on the driver of the car .... many of whom I understand will be unpaid volunteers like myself......
changed the radiator on the wife`s zx yesterday, seemed to take alot of water to fill up but eventually did, so took it for a short run to clear air lock`s and seemed all good. checked the level last thing as she was leaving for work eary and again all good, but she rang me a couple of hour`s later and said light was on and filler bottle woz empty. she took it to a garage and was told they`d keep the car and take the pump apart? any suggestion`s? Unless there is a visible leak it could be the head gasket, if its leaking it will blow the coolant out of the fillercap/overflow pipe.
So, I'm from Sweden and I'm not used to talking about my car in English, so sorry in advance, but I'll try explain my problem as good as possible.
However, first I couldn't open my backdoors and left front door (just the right one), I could get the left front door open by putting key in and turning and meanwhile it's turned I could open it and the second problem was my tailgate opening for pretty much EVERYTHING. And when I close it - it just locks itself. (same as front door - got it open by turning key, but when closing = closed)... Read more
Well I have done an owner's review for the main site and I have now got a bit of time to add one to the forum, in the manner of Craigpd's Volvo V60 review.

A quick update!
I have run my MX-5 for 12k miles now. It's still impeccable. My commute is still about 60 miles per day but it'll be dropping to about 15 miles soon. My only niggle is having to buy a new undertray due to decapitating a duck on the M6 - the tray cracked! ...

I have just purchased a used Kia Ceed through a car dealer, the vehicle is a '10 reg. I thought it might have a few problems, clutch engages very quickly, white smoke from exhaust on cold start, slightly crunchy brakes, so I took it into my local KIA dealer to get them checked out. They tell me that it needs a new clutch, new front and rear brake pads and new fuel filter, about £1000 to repair all. I've called the dealer I bought it from trying to state my statutory rights but he says that these are wearable items and as they worked when I drove away then he can't help me! Do i have any comeback? Read more
You are in a very strong position, ignore the dealer, and get on to Trading Standards. Also have a look at this http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=96005

I put in an order last week for a Ford Focus Estate 1.6 ecoboost. Just had a call from the dealer saying its going to be a 3 month delay as Ford are only building 1.0 ecoboost engines....is this true or dealership bull ? Read more
It may simply be that demand for the 1.6 Ecoboost in Mondeo and Kuga/Escape is outstripping supply.
My Passat has just been written off by the claims assessor as uneconomical repair. I've been told I can buy it back and that it will become a Cat C type vehicle.
What I need to know is what's the whole process I now need to go through, paper-work-wise. Where and how do the DVLA get involved, what happens about the V5 (which has been sent to the claims company, along with the original MOT), and also time-scales?... Read more

Yesterday, I notice water was pooring out around the cam shaft belt area next to the pully, I could not see because of the cam belt cover. Would this be the water pump leaking or the core p;lug?... Read more
Core plugs rarely fail nowadays - unless its been frozen recently. It will most likely be the water pump, the pump itself isn't expensive but its driven by the cambelt so that will need to be replaced as well. Will probably cost about £60.00 or so to do it yourself but plus labour costs for a garage I would expect around £200 - 300.00.

Thats great thanks for your help :)
