And so it has come to pass.
The Protection of Freedom Act 2012 has received Royal Assent and has been published. As you know two important aspects is that it outlaws private clamping and also gives owners of land power to chase up Registered Keepers in England and Wales for charges for parking which have not been paid by the driver.... Thanks very much DVD for bringing us up to date.
Sorry - I'm being thick or just back home late (12.30 am) but I can't see the connection between parking and sexual orientation!
I'm sorry but I've had to hide the above post: some of the comments about a particular company could be actionable for defamation, and we can't allow that on a public forum. Read more
Hi, my 2007Fabia vRS Se has just failed the MOT on front suspension- bottom arm bushes.. (2.4.G.2).. after Only 31,300K miles! My friend's BMW did over 100,000k without that! Is this a substandard OE part??
Also,it was pulled up on nr & off side rear directional indicators, incorrect colours!! (1.4.A.2f). I have Never changed these & they have passed the last 2 MOTs... am I being ripped off??... Read more
The indicator failure may be due to fading of the colour-new lenses needed or some accessory shops sold little bottles of clear, coloured paint.

I recently had a car accident on the M25 motorway where a foreign HGV driver pulled into the back of my ford fiesta, as the HGV was moving from the slow lane into the middle lane without indication or looking.
The impact and subsequent second hit (as my car spun sideways and he hit into the side of my car), caused my small 1ltr car to be written off and I had to be stretchered to hospital due to injuries. Because I was taken from the scene by ambulence I wasnt able to try and get witnesses or take pictures.
My lawyers are currently handling the case for me, as I was only insured TPFT and the foreign driver is denying liability and has lied and said I "paniced when I saw the HGV indicating to move into the middle lane" so I swerved in front of him into the slow lane and he then hit me in the rear.
I was pretty shocked to read that, but unsurprised to see him trying to dodge liability - he hadnt even told his insurers until their UK agent hassled them into finding out what happened.
I'm now worried that they'll end up trying to make it a 50/50 split (as my lawyers didnt try and ask for the cctv footage until it was too late and the 30 day tape had been wiped) and wondered if anyone knows what I could do if this happened? - would it be a case of trying to take it to court?... Ok, well I have nothing to lose by taking it as far as I can then.
I was already ahead of this vehicle, but all traffic was slowed down due to speed restrictions as it had been raining - he pulled into the middle lane without indicating or looking....
I have been receiving phone calls to my mobile from a claims outfit which says they c an get me compensation for an acident I have had. The only accident I have had was when I reversed into a friend's gatepost so why are they pursuing me. I also, after telling them I do not want to hear further from them have had calls to my home ex directory phone which when I answer are silent but by doing 1471 I think it was the claims managers again. Bit fed up with this. How can I stop it? Read more
Did u receive any letter from them...
"From October it will be an offence in England and Wales to clamp, tow or immobilise a vehicle without lawful authority".

I would hope lawful authority means only the Police and Council can do it, not any private parking womble in a Peugeot van.
I agree that the shaven head mob should be put out of business BUT I represent a business estate with parking for tennants only. How will we now enforce non parking by commuters, cafe users etc who dont care about PCN's as they are almost unenforceble in the 'civilian' world. Only Councils & Police have real teeth on this....
Hi, hope someone might have come across this before. My focus is a shiny blue colour, not 3 years old yet ( I have owned for 1 year). I have noticed clear lacquer peeling from the front corner. Nothing has happened to the car, that I know of. I am taking into a Ford bodyshop next week but wondering if the warranty will cover it. It says in Ford booklet 1 year for paint and 5/6 years for perforation but this is more corrosion from the inside. The blue paint is intact (for now) but worried about it spreading over other areas. Also noticed inside the stereo buttons, a couple of those are flaking. This isnt what I was expecting from a £10,000 car and am starting to get slightly worried. I have owned other cars for 5 years or more and never noticed flaking buttons and flaking lacquer on outside. Wished I hadn't got such a shiny car now. Any advice greatly appreciated not a good first experience with a ford car!
