Please can anyone tell me what the thread is likely to be on the steering link of a Liner 1Ton Dumper from 1963. Obviously there are left and right handed threads, but I don't know what the thread is and I want to replace them as they are showing signs of age.
Thank you.

I'm taking a rowdy school group in a minibus from Hartlepool to Oban in June. As it's a long drive and the kids will get restless, I need to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. Looking at the map there are 2 possible routes:
1. up the A68 round Edinburgh and onto the A84 & 85 to Oban... Read more
I'd agree with the others, A69 and then M74.
It can be a bit of a convoy on the A69 past Hexham when the dual carrigeway ends, but it's the route we use.
I have an old Peugeot 306, with a faulty heater exchange leaking into the passenger footwell of the car. Due to the age/value of the car, I don't want to replace the heater exchange. I'd like to simply bypass it so I can make the car last a few more months before I replace it (over the summer). Will bypassing the heater exchange temporarily solve my problem? Any major risks / downsides? Can anyone provide very simple instructions on how to bypass it?
Thanks in advance.... Read more

Spare wheel vs space -saver vs repair kit.
Is there a website that summarises what cars have what system as standard. And, more importantly to those traditionalists who want the comfort of knowing a full size spare is on board, is there a summary of cars whose design excludes the stowage space for the removed punctured wheel? Read more
Our new Doblo has loads of room for a full size spare but it is still an optional extra, which we specified having had 2 flats in 2 years on previous car. I wouldn't want to travel too far without at least a space saver. My Dad did 200 miles on a space saver in snow in his Jazz, he now has a full size spare sorted for him from the dealer!
Does anyone know how the Coolant Level Sensor works ??
It is integral with the coolant expansion tank cap.
( I will post a picture later of the cap & sensor)... Read more
Within the float is a magnet. As the coolant level rises or falls this magnet operates a reed switch (open/closed) which in turn signals the warning light circuit.hth
I've tested it & it's working ok.
In fact when you move the float up & down you can hear a slight click as the switch is operated. I've also tested it on a multimeter....

Most likely UNF. Does an A/F spanner fit the nut?
