Cheers for that! I remember reading about it and not filing the reference away (like so many things). I thought it was to get round the rule that defined a maximum bore centreline distance which was designed to cap the valve area-but looking at that engine, that wouldn't help. Wasn't there an inline engine with oval pistons with the semi major axis Perpendicular to the crank centreline?
I have just received a notice of intention to prosecute for going through a red light. This was in Nottingham area. I'm not contesting it but I need my licence to hire a car while on holiday from August 8th - 24th. Once I send the the notice back saying I was the driver, does anyone know how long it is until they say what is going to happen. I will, presumably have to send my licence off to have the points added. Does anyone know how long this will take?

In the late 90s Ken Livingstone said 'i hate cars, if i get any powers again i'd ban the lot' proving he had an agenda and would skew any facts in order to backup his agenda and push his ideas through. Such an unreasonable left-winger isnt someone you can debate with or reason with. There was a rumour in London shortly after he took over that he was controlling traffic lights to purposely cause jams, and being green for 8 seconds and red for 3 minutes you can see why such rumours came about. His congestion charging was a disgrace, and to be allowed to impliment it when only residents of one city were eligable to vote, yet that city is just as much my capital as it is yours and i'd still be expected to pay it was disgusting. And the fact all the foreign delegates now refuse to pay it due to it being a 'tax not a service' tells its own story. All the charge did was move congestion to other less equipped roads, so guess what, he went after those as well but fortunately Boris scrapped the extension.
In fact ive just looked at the 2000 London Mayor statistics and he became Mayor from an election with a pithy 34% turnout. So if you were in the 66% and own a car, not bothering to vote cost you alot of money. And he was only first preferance in 39% of that 34% turnout. Millions of wallets hit through the wishes and votes of a tiny minority of people. Him and TFL, Transport 2000 etc are car hating institutions, and deliberately go out of their way to make car driving more difficult, despite the fact motorists are people and tax payers too. And its not based on science because taxi's, trains and buses pollute more than private cars anyway, so its all a political idealogy on how people like him thinks everyone else should live. And i absolutely hate people who make policies based on how they think life should be, rather than on whats best for the people. Politically im on the side of small Government and a general principle of leaving people alone, rather than interfearing and badgering them to live differently....

The same people who lap up the cheap trash are the same ones who would run to the papers with their hand out if they thought their vile doings would be "worth" some money. I always say if you dont want to end up in the papers then dont do anything stupid. I apply that mainly to footballers and they only get targeted and tarnished because they could lose all sorts of image rights contracts (as in the case of tiger woods) if these stories get out, well i say its their own sodding fault. And there clearly is a line because its being drawn here, some 40 year old running off with a 19 year old russian and leaving a poor mother with four kids to bring up on benefits may seem a a story of very poor taste but that mother on benefits with four kids in question wont be complaining when she makes a few quid out of the story (and good on her if someones stupid enough to pay it) but it doesnt mean you have to read it. I dont read the paper, they can put what they like it, if it was your private life all over it a) nobody knows who you are so it wouldnt be in anybodies interest to run the story unless it was very outrageous and b) i'd have forgotten you in 5 minutes even if i did read it, i dont store information i dont require about people i dont know or care about. And i do feel most people who dont lap it up are the same.
Some families are being ripped apart by greasy haired hacks, thats what is the problem, and there are already laws in place to make sure this sees a rightful conclusion. A story about how a skint wife had her husband run off with a russian playboy bunny only gets in the papers because said skint wife wanted it to, theres no poor old woman there, she wants it to hit the presses, the more the better, ker ching!! Things like hacking of private messages (which is shockingly easy to do and would be alot harder if people just changed their pin numbers from the default) of dead soldiers families is wrong, thats a newspaper hunting for a story without any consent from any side and their actions are illegal, you dont need to make radical legislation to deal with something which is already illegal....
hello i have a rover tourer r reg i have changed crank sensor and coil ( they were off 1.4 if that is a problem please let me know ) new lead to coil and new rotory arm has been put on also fuel is getting thru but we still have no spark i was told it could be the ignition module where would i find it so i can replace b4 i scrap car many thanks any help will be gratefully recived Read more

apparently a mobile mechanic came out the other day b4 the coil was changed and said it is a rover engine (what difference that makes i dont know ) and as u say it could make a difference of a 1.4 gonna change it as a friend got it 4 me but didnt tell me they were off 1.4 till the other day not happy :-( will try this first and thanks as we may of saved it from being scrapped will keep updated might need more help ( i am female and dont even know what a coil looks like so gonna google one lol)

Could be wrong, but I think the brake switch is double poled, thus one for the hi-vis LED brake light, and the other connection for the bulbs in the clusters.
Worth checking as you've tried the other obvious stuff.
