I have posted the question on this forum.

I have an impact wrench, and I would like to know which adapter I should use with my compressor.

The impact wrench connector photo:

The air gun connector:

Many, many thanks for your help in this matter.

I am considering changing my elderly Corolla hatcback for a biger automatic estate car, and was wondering about getting a grey import (I already have a celica convertible grey)

I was thinking of something like an Avensis estate (think they call it Caldina) or Corolla estate or something similar.... Read more

There are a lot fewer Japanese /Gray import companies these days to the hassle of importing and the hassle of exchange rates.

The car is very slow to build up revs in gears 1 and 2. Takes an age to accelerate then pulls and enables a gear change. Fine on the motorway and drives normally. Tried some catalytic cleaner on advice and performance has improved though still a hint of sluggish acceleration. Various advice from wrong oil, to air sensor but it's a real mystery. The cat fault light is now on but each time I take it to garage the mechanic is reluctant to name the problem and say several faults are registering. Also had two weeks recently of perfect motoring after clutch and starter motor replaced, then old problem returns. Has anybody had this problem? Read more

Hi all, tried adding a key to my 2005 MK 5 Golf. I have a handheld VAG K+ Can and VAG Dash Can. Got the pin using VAG K+ and tried to program in using the Dash Can laptop software adapting the new key in only, not erasing the other key.

Chip in new key is a virgin and I know it's the correct Canbus chip type. Immo is system 2 from the symbol on the dash.... Read more

Hi all,

My mum and sister have recently bought both a 2002 (new shape/Mark 6) Fiesta 1.6 Duratec petrol, and a 2002 Fusion with the same engine. It may be a simple question, but the owner's manuals for both cars are very unclear about the best engine temperature (cold/warm) for topping up the oil. Any advice appreciated.... Read more

Anyway any ideas on either would be much appreciated.... Read more

Not seen a lot here lately on 2.0 litre 4wd delivery delays since the announcement of the "temporary" 1.7 issue.

Have just had a call today from my dealer who says my 2.0 4wd will be ready by end of May. That seems a definite as I am told it is in the UK and just needs to go through delivery, PDI, registration etc. Good luck to any of you out there still waiting - may be things are now moving! Read more

Advice desperately needed. Car broke down due to lack of water. I had checked top up bottle before I left but apparently you need to also check the radiator on these cars too. RAC towed me into Newbury garage where they took the engine apart and said it was "well cooked". They had the head skimmed (1mm) but quoted over £1000 to put it back together with no guarantee of it working so I fetched it back to Northants in peices. I have since rebuilt it but there is no spark at plugs and it sounds like I have no compression in the engine. There doesn't seem to be any sign of a bent valve. Am I missing something? Not sure whether to just get new engine or continue to trywith current one. Please help. Read more

Fit a compression tester and post your readings?

Coil pack has it got a feed to it very easy to leave a wire off.

Does use of cruise control place more stress on the flywheel than the use of manual accelerator as the engine does seem to kick when accelerating. Read more

Couple of Qs...1)Any comments on performance/duability of Suplex coil springs please?

2)Can anyone direct me to online details on procedure for fitting rear road springs to Smart Roadster Coupe `04/`05 plate please?Usually don`t bother with manuals but reckon it might save time on this one. She`s sitting down on the drivers side rear, can`t see anything underneath so suspect top of coil is broken. It`s done 40,000miles,hasn`t been thrashed,I`m only allowed in the passenger seat ;) but you feel every pothole&manhole cover........so does the suspension I would guess.First became suspicious when the driver appeared to do an odd correction mid-corner at times, usually her driving isn`t too alarming. Now I understand car was oversteering on right-handers and understeering on lefthanders.
