I was wondering if anybody can help I am experiencing problems with my Astra 2L DTI. There is an intermittant fault on the vehicle as occasionally whilst accelerating the power will drop off and the revs will decrease with the accelerator unable to raise them. However if the clutch pedal is pressed and I take it out of gear, re engage the gear and then lift the clutch pedal the revs increase with the accelerator and everything is as normal.
Also when in heavy traffic and the vehicle is at idle for a prolonged period of time the revs will icrease to approx 1300 RPM and the ECU light will come on. During this time the vehicle speed is limited as I cannot increase the revs. This same fault sometimes occurs on initial start up. If the engine is turned off and then re started the fault disapears until the next time it is in a prolonged Idle.
Any help would be greatley appreciated. Read more
hi
first I'd like to say hello to whole forum, got registered on yesterday but I'll be probably staying here for a longer time :P
I'll be passing an exam for driver license soon and the car I want to buy is a Mitsubishi Galant EA5A (1997-2003, 8th gen). The one I want to buy has a 2.0 turbodiesel engine. I want to know what are your opinions on this car (yes, I know the engine is sloppy and slow like a turtle, but I don't have any other options). There is a good reason for this extact one - price. The guy who will be selling it (for now he's looking for another Galant but a 2.4 litre petrol) is a friend of my father and the price is 10 000PLN (I live in Poland). I might negotiate it a little. Since the car is a 2000 year it's a price very low (market price is about 18000 PLN).
Getting to the point - I want to know how this car drives, handles and what things can break down. Thanks for all answers to this. Read more

Does any one know if there is a problem with the heating on the 02 Ford KA's?
I have purchased one from a dealer and after the heater has been put on to heat, warm air still continues to come out of the vents, even after it has been put on to fully cold.
The dealer is claiming that this is not a fault, however it sounds a bit suspicious.
Your help will be much appreciated! Read more
sometimes the heater controls play up, the circuit board in the rear of the control unit melts/distorts but yes heater valve are a common problem, not letting heat through or not closing properly, get it sorted its a cheap fix (even if you have to pay)
Need some help! 1995 N Reg 1.4 Polo
Had a problem with engine overheating. Thermostat has been replced and new pump. The coolant isn't reaching the radiator, in turn the fan can't come on. We've checked for blockages. Does anyone have any idea why the coolant wouldn't reach the radiator when the main culprits have been replaced?
Any help greatly appreciated. Read more
Thanks for your help everyone! Any more ideas? I'll let you know how it goes...fingers crossed!
I wanted to enter the University of Physics and Mathematics, but I did not have enough points in mathematics. I think that if I had started learning math earlier and also got a good base, there would have been much less problems. It is good that today's children have many more options, including experienced tutors who can pick up math programs for kids . Taking into account the individual needs of children is very important, as this can affect the quality of education. Read more
Now students and people in general who want to learn English have a lot of opportunities in the form of online courses, platforms and so on. First of all, I want to note Promova and educational materials, for example, promova.com/english-grammar/auxiliary-verbs-in-eng...h , which it provides for self-study. Convenient for those who do not have a tutor.
Sounds like a horrible smash last night. BBC reporting Northbound still closed.

I too agree Cheddar. And with there now being a criminal investigation and the driver remanded perhaps it should be locked.
My driver side window of my 53 reg Megane kept going down on it's own. I managed to get it to go back up afterwards, but now it doesn't work at all. I swopped the switches around and the front switches operate the rear windows ok, so it's not the switch. Anyone know what the likely cause is or what other diagnostics I can do.?? Read more
I have seen a few problems with the electric windows on these and it is often caused by a poor/corroded connector to the window lift motor. This model has a real oddball setup where the motor is mounted/clipped into the door card which in itself can be a real drama to remove with several hidden screws.hth
The alternator belt is squeeling loudly.I've removed and cleaned the belt and cleaned all the pulleys to remove any traces of oil or grease.I've rotated all the pulleys in an attempt to check the condition of the bearings (apart from the crankshaft pulley of course). The water pump, alternator, air con compressor and idler seem ok but the belt tensioner (which is rotated anti clockwise with a torx T-50 to remove the belt) seems to have excessive play. The bolt holding the tensioner pulley allows the pulley to slide in and out by about 1mm at the centre and allows 2 to 3 mm movement on the outside diameter.Rotating the bolt anti clockwise pushes the pulley againt a spring to refit/tension the belt.Rotating it clockwise by say half a turn requires much effort - I don't want to shear the bolt or damage any other component.Does anyone have any experience of this? Is the amount of play normal ? Can the play be adjusted ? Could it be something else ? Does a small amount of oil/grease/dirt on a belt make much difference ? How much does a tensioner cost and is it easy to fit ? Thanking you in anticipation Read more
I am going to see a Fiesta tomorrow, its very cheap and basic but I want to spend a good hour looking over it. I have my dads to compare it with the same engine, so I know what it should sound like etc. However is there any easy way to spot oil/water/brake fluid leaks from underneath considering I can't jack it up?
I am thinking this car could serve as a cheap insure banger until I have real money to spend on a car (this time next year). Read more
Ended up at a Junction in Newcastle (Bottom of Gallowgate travelling from Haymarket) today with no where safely / legally to go.
It had a sign up with "no right turn except Buses, Taxi. CCTV in operation". I was in the right lane turning right with buses in the left hand lane. Left leads into a Bus area anyway. Straight ahead was closed off, and I couldnot turn around due to a central reservation.
I didnot notice any road closed signs, but was following a large van closely most of the way at 10 MPH so was close behind it so could have missed it..
I was one of many who ended up doing the same thing.....Whats the likely punishment for no right turn?

Outside London they operate two bands:
Higher £70 or Band 2 £60.
From what you say signing is not 100% so get photos and lodge and argue in appeal if you get a PCN.

possible a clutch switch issue/adjustment what appears to be happening is that its going into limp home mode, you realy need to get it plugged into a code reader/scanner to see whats going on
