I recently bought this car and it has over driven 1000 over the last year (12,000 in total). It produces a nasty clunk/boing over some speed bumps possibly combined sometimes with a grinding noise. I had nissan replace the roll bars but to no avail. I feel it is something jamming and releasing. It passed it MOT with flying colours - hat can it be? Read more

Optimist

Odd noise appeared in last few days. Lasts for only a minute or so on starting off. Not when car is rolling in neutral. Only when in drive.

Any thoughts before I let the dealer loose on it?

Thanks. Read more

You are not the only one with this problem optimist. I own a 2001 1.8 Primera with exactly the same symptoms. Should i ever manage to solve this mystery i will let you know and would appreciate if you could do the same. Good luck.

does that include dr10?

That's one of the select bunch which (quite rightly) stay on your licence for 10 years.

BTW I've had one myself, opinion stems from personal experience.

hi there,my problem is that my engine management light has stayed on even after changing both front & rear oxygen sensors(both from honda) on my accord.when take the car out of gear & into neutral the rev counter dips well below lidel point(750) & almost stalls causing me to keep the revs up whenever i put into neutral.the car was serviced last year was slightly better for 2 weeks then back to its usual stalling.

Please Help

An attempt to `double up` a labour charge would be bad enough. (long gone, following temporary weakness due to surgery-no DIY) But if them being caught and challenged led to a later`blanking` from the service manager, on having to pass the desk to get to parts..

To say nothing of the sullen looking girls forming the reception staff (allegedly told off) looking anywhere but your face. Eye contact and a smile for a repeat new purchase customer. You must be joking.

But then, It`s perhaps not much of a customer who just comes back for parts..

Best perhaps to try to look straight at the parts dept, when in the showroom and ignore it back.... It could be resented though.. and that will eventually extract its price.

Perhaps you could name the dealer in question? Sounds very like Cross Roads Garage but

Avant.

I wasn't ignoring you, i just wanted to check with the garage that they wouldn't mind if i named them as requested, been there today and happy for me to do so, sorry for the delay.

Hi Guys

Just a quick one, can peugeot immobiliser chips in key fobs be reprogrammed or can the car be forced to take a new chip

The reason i ask, lost my key the other day, a mate had an old key which he gave to me, i have had the blade copied and yes i know the car wont start because of the immobiliser. Can Peugeot reprogram the chip to tie it up with my car or will i have to buy a new chip and then get that programmed, don't want to be fobbed off at the spares counter, not that they would do such a thing i'm sure

Thanks for looking

Thought i'd follow up on this one and answer my own question.

My problem was lost my original RF key fob for my 306,
Had a quote from peugeot £96.00 + VAT for a new key!!!!

Bought a second hand keyfob from a online auction site, complete with uncut blade £10

Blade cut by locksmith £3

This is the best bit slipped a peugeot mechanic a tenner to twin key with car, for this job alone peugeot wanted £46 + VAT, they told me it would take 30 minutes!!

RUBBISH it took 60 seconds, mechanic linked laptop to car, entered my entry number (found on a credit card type card, mine was with my handbook), PC then said insert key and turn to igniation point 2, press button on keyfob, remove key, try key

Job done

Always worth speaking to a mechanic around lunch time, £10 in his pocket, he was happy, i was happy, hopefully you can be happy too.

Good luck

I thought it was around the end of this year or early next year but haven't heard anything definite.

It's no surprise the new Fiesta soooo nice, being based on the gorgeous Mazda 2.

All I've worked out is that it's not what I imagined it to be, which was applying stickers, go-faster stripes and the like.

So what does it mean?

I was (un)loading the car this morning which was on a residents' parking space (on the road). As I returned to the car and drove off, I noticed a traffic warden 15' from the car scribbing on his pad.

No doubt I am in for a ticket, but is loading permitted on residents' parking spaces?

Kiddy, at least thats what I thought they were doing - they had a book and go round the limited time road parking making a note of numbers than later on go back and check them... how do the others do it then?!

skorpio

As a car driver for over 20 years and someone who cycles to work everyday come rain or shine, I experience a fair few close shaves with motorists. What really rags me are car drivers who still insist on overtaking me when I'm almost in the middle of the road with my arm stuck out signalling to turn right on a mini roundabout.

What part of a right turn signal don't they get? How far over would I have to be before the idiot car driver would decide to stop trying to pass me and wait until I'd turned?

What thought process (assuming said driver has a brain) is being played out which makes that person think its ok for them to pass me whilst I'm signalling?

They wouldn't get away with it if I was in a car or on a motorbike but for some reason their tiny brains think: Cyclist. He doesn't count as a proper road user so therefore I can do whatever the hell I like. I'll speed up, squeeze past and then I'll get to work 1 minute earlier.

It's like some motorists are simply on auto pilot in the morning and all they can think of is getting their personal transport device into work as quickly as possible with no thought for other road users!

So if you fancy your doors being dented and being sued following a personal injury claim, just overtake whenever you see a right turn signal.

I think cyclists in London are out to terrify drivers. When you set off from a set of lights with twenty cyclists around you - to the left, right, before and behind - it's terrifying as a driver.
