Well who else got a valentines card from Subaru. Out of all the junk mail I have ever had I think this is the first time it has raised a smile. Well done Subaru a piece of junk mail that never went straight into the bin. Read more

What thoughtful after-sales service.
Maybe if you're unfortunate enough to crash it and die they'll send a wreath...

A court case has just finished in this country in which some one who felt they had lost out on a parking space in a supermarket car park was so incensed that they took actions that led to the eventual demise of the other party. This may have been a rare example at the top end of the scale but is it the tip of a growing problem .

Have you ever been the victim of parking rage or wanted to cause harm to some one who you perceived as having taken ' your spot " ?

I was going to say not on your nellie, after the news about an issue with their beans, but then I discovered it wasn't them. It was Another Large Supermarket, some long time ago.

If you had the choice of a 2004 Nissan Micra 1.4 SE Auto or a Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ghia Auto, both at £5700 from franchised dealers, which would you go for?

Nissan known for reliability, Ford for cheap running costs.....I just don't know! Read more

Personally, if it was my money runboy, id look seriosuly at the older-shape Micra as it was a very tough car with a sweet CVT gearbox, although maybe the price needs some work.

Hi All,
have just got hold of four brand new injectors for my 106. They are original Peugeot/Citroen injectors, part number 1980.21 on the box. However on closer examination the injectors have the code LUCAS LDC-010R01 A GMG written on them and my current injectors have the slightly different LUCAS LDC-007R01 A DMG on them. My question is does the difference in codes mean anything?
Hope Ive given enough info, does anyone have an idea why seemingly identical injectors should have different codes on them?
Thanks in advance Read more

2000 v reg 1.0 litre done 14500 miles only-all services up to date. made the noise regularly before being serviced last week when the transmission fluid was renewed. Old fluid came out clean and clear. Yes it's the correct Dexron 3 stuff as per book that went in. The noise still happens 1.When hot after about 15-20 miles 2. At slow speed about 10 mph or less and 3. Only when slowing down in gear position D will not do it in gear position Ds. All other g'box functions are ok-no other noises or slipping. The electric clutch brushes have been checked and are ok.It seems to happen when the box is changing down just before coming to a halt and is a faint groaning noise accompanied by a slight jolt similar to letting the clutch out too suddenly on a manual. Nissan dealer not helpful or in the least bit interested except in selling new gearbox"if we can get one for a car that old"- cheek!
Any Nissan CVT experts out there?

Well, my old Mondy has covered 145,000 miles and I've only ever replaced one headlamp bulb but SWMBO's Focus (54k miles) seems to have developed a habit of blowing one or the other headlamp bulb every 5 or 6 months. This time, it's the battery side again - and that's a real pain!

I wonder if this is a common problem with Foci, or is it symptomatic of some other fault? I'd be grateful for any opinions.

Cheers Waino

Snakey, can you remember - were the Philips bulbs 'standard'. Whenever I look for Philips bulbs on the net, it seems to come up with 'super-duper/extra light/wizzy blue etc. I can't seem to find a straightforward 'ordinary' bulb.

I know I can get a 'standard' motorcraft bulb from the local Ford dealer - is that likely to be as good as the Philips?

Thanks, Waino.

Been investigating a new car-cover for my convertible which is long-term stored outdoors, and had some fabric samples in from covercraft.

Their mos texpensive fabric is called Weathershield, but looks incredibly thin and fine, and has tiny holes in it when you hold it up to the light.

it is nearly £100 more xpensive than their cheaper Naoh and Evolution fabrics.

The weatheshield blurb claims its breathable and water runs off like a ducks back, but as far as I can see it looks porous..... although yet to have tested it.

also looks like it will tear easily.

Does anyone have any experience with it and/or know how long it maintains its water-resistance ?

Is the resistance by virtue of the material/weave or is it treated with a proofing-agent that could potentially fade/wear off.
Does anyone have any experienc e of their Noah or Evolution fabrics ?

They are all subsatsntially more expensive than other covers.

Cheers

I am unsure what the variety was as I bought it from the importer of my Mustang it cost me £290 and was quite thin. It was a custom one for the car so it had little pockets for the door mirrors and a slit for the aerial. The aerial slit started to tear after about 18 months.

With the Moltex there is no aerial slit or door mirror pockets but this is a plus because the door mirrors hold the cover away from the car and let the air circulate better.

Britain is now a 3rd world country so can we have similar fuel prices please

'India has raised the prices of petrol and diesel for the first time in 20 months to help petrol dealers with sky-high oil prices.
The cost of petrol will increase by 2 rupees ($0.05), or 4.6% per litre, and diesel will rise by 1 rupee or 3.3%.

India spends billions of dollars subsidising fuel and the government has been reluctant to increase the price as the subsidies help keep down inflation' Read more

To include a wider audience, this car shares the same floorpan and suspension as the 1996-2004 Volvo S40.

The drivability of the car has been getting worse than usual recently, particularly going round corners and general stability (like a drunk on rollerskates!)

This cracking/groaning is coming from the back suspension.

Are there any common weaknesses with rear bushes or balljoints?

Will the MOT man fail it for being noisy? Read more

"get it sorted."

I agree! Sounds possibly like one of the dampers has failed.

When you take your car for a service do you have to have the repairs done they recommend in order for the service log to be stamped? I know on my car that the power steering pump leaks a little so about once every 4months I top up the steering fluid. So I don?t want this replaced as its not a problem for me but my car is due a service soon.

Cheers guys
