Last week my trusted independent replaced my (83000 mile) original front discs, I also asked for new wheel bearings.

I wish I could agree with you but it isn`t the case, many a time I had to change a set of pads due to a problem with a new set of pads causing a noise that the others were not making, and even though everything had been done properly everyone disagreed with what I reckoned....
Plenty on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road. They are on hills and only vehicles going uphill can overtake.

I have a thread in the Legal forum about a car I bought in Nov 2022 that had serious DPF issues within the first 3 weeks. I'm currently arguing with the dealer about getting a refund.
This thread isn't about whether I'll get one or not...I'm more curious about the cost to get a new DPF and fit it to the car. I spoke to a Vauxhall dealership and they said I'd be looking at £1800-2200. I would looking at a particular Vauxhall, it was 3 years old, low mileage, small engine with turbo. The price of it was the same as a 6 year old equivalent from alternative Japanese brands (and it has higher mileage). Honest John rate the Vauxhall Insignia at 3/5
