I need to get back to northern UK from Sicily in a couple of weeks.

There are no direct flights on the day, but there is the option of transiting via Milan Malpensa (MXP) with Ryanair, (unfortunate I know, but I need to get home).... Read more

Weve flown Easyjet twice out of Malpensa. Easyjet occupy all of one terminal which is modern and big enough to have good facilities without being sprawling. However once through security there are no visible airline service staff so ask any questions before you go through security.

Our flight this year was more or less on time but the first, three years ago was over six hours late. At that time the route's punctuality was one of the worst. I can't find the current stats. Hopefully they've improved as the compo must have been costing a fortune - we got the EU standard amount so effectively a free flight.

When waiting for your flight you can avoid the crowds around the main floor by taking the escalator down to the lower level where there is a lot of spare seating and good free wifi. Its charms did wear thin after six hours though!

Good luck!

and the rubbish quality finish on the 'diamond cut alloys' as all will need a refurb before car is returned to lease co next autumn.

This is not because it is a Nissan, it is because they are diamond cut alloys. They are all going look rubbish after a couple of years unless by some miracle you have managed to avoid any sort of break or chip on the surface. Once this happens, the laquer will lift around it and take on that horrible milky appearance. The only way to avoid it is to buy a car which does not have diamond cut alloys, which these days, is going to be tricky!.

Given the ludicrous number of traffic lights in Swansea, coupled with the council's insistence on digging the entire city up every 2 years when they come up with yet another hare-brained traffic management / busway / road closure scheme, this news does not surprise me in the slightest. Read more

Swansea is more of a port-in-name-only. The docks have become the "SA1" development. no fumes.

This is an example of councils taking away driving space from ordinary motorists, then profiting from the confusion they cause. Permanent bus/tax/cycle lanes need to be coloured differently to this avoid confusion. Additional conventional signage is a road safety issue as drivers are finding it harder, and harder to read all the information thrown at them whilst trying to drive safely. Read more

Lots of comments here straight out of the Daily Mail book of complaining! How about taking responsibility for your own actions? If you think the markings on the bus lane in question were insufficient then defend yourself properly using the council complaints procedure. Otherwise, just admit you made a mistake and pay up.

Hi I have a 206 1.1 8v, which has a bad misfire, I have replaced the spark plugs, a 2nd hand cool pack, done the head gasket and double checked the timing, it seems to have had 2 injectors replaced on cylinders 3 and 4, but before I owned the car. Spark plugs 1 and 4 are black, 2 and 3 are clean.

Any help would be great many thanks Read more

I'm praying someone will help me here as I am literally hitting my head against a brick wall with Auxillis. When preforming a emergency stop at a roundabout as I had been cut up by another driver. I was hit from behind, low impact, crushed my bumper/damaged light.... Read more

I have a very good friend who works for Auxillis. As HJ often says this is exactly the sort of racket that makes the UK insurance market so crazy and all our premiums so high. I'd love to know what Auxillis are going to bill the other party's insurer for the cost of your hire car, I can tell you it will far exceed the value of your write off. Auxillis staff comission is all about getting the '''non fault' driver into a credit hire car for which they get paid comission. They don't give two hoots how long it takes the other party's insurer to make a settlement with you, in fact the longer the better to enlarge that bill for the Hyundai you are driving around in.

My car has failed the MOT on account of the suspension needing replacing. I have only had it a year and already had to replace the clutch. Reluctant to spend more money as I would like to get rid of it. What are my best options? Part exchange? Scrap it? Or do the repairs and go for a private sale? Any advice much appreciated. Read more

In our family we have a 2004 Fiat Punto that has only 21,000 miles. We bought it for £500 in 2015 at 10,000 miles.

Our two sons have learnt to drive in it and it currently lives with son #1 at university. As you might imaging it has been bashed about a bit. But... underneath it is still a solid car with a great engine and gearbox and no rot. Every so often I have to spend a few pounds on repairs, such a brake pads and discs, exhaust section etc. But these are consumables and do not cost the price of a car. ...

Hi

Travelling to work this morning I was approaching a tight corner and could see a car approaching from the opposite direction leaning hard and hard across on my side of the road. I tried to move to the left but the wing mirrors contacted and my swung back and has smashed my drivers window. Glass everywhere and I have some very superficial cuts.... Read more

Coincidentally my son had said to me last week that he didn't understand why I didn't have a dash cam. The youth are teaching their elders now. He was right. Would have paid for itself.

Must go and close that stable door ....

It is the same with s/s when you put the brakes on waiting the engine cuts out then when you take your foot off the brakes the engine starts up. Another thing is what happens if the car in front is a disabled person which has their car adapted?. A lot of people need to think before they write on here.
