I could not make up my mind which one to buy after sold my old Peugeot 306 for a Yaris 1.4D 73bhp 2004 or Panda 1.3 Multijet 70bhp 2004, I have been on both out for a test drive, both are very space for a small car, Panda is cost £29 cheaper to insure than Yaris, both have same road tax but the engine I am more focus is mpg because I am driving nearly 30,000 miles per year between 60-70mph on dual carriage, the Panda’s engine is rev to 2,900rpm at 70mph but the Yaris is rev low at 2,500rpm do you think 2,900 rpm is far too much for a diesel engine.
I am wonder why Panda can do 67 mpg better than the Yaris at 64mpg because the Panda got massive a turbo lag till 2,400rpm then it start to deliver power this would lose fuel consumption because of turbo lag but the Yaris is smooth torque it start from 1,500rpm it pull strong all way to 3,000rpm, if the Panda’s top gear is rev too much on 70mph I was expect the Panda to be more thirsty than the Yaris?
My Parent thinks the Panda is a good car but my friend is push me to buy Yaris that why I am not sure and ask for your help about mpg.
I am aim to keep the car longest as I can.
thanks

I may be wrong here, but your initial choices seem to be possibly because they are local cars for sale (seen in the local newspaper?) that fit your budget? Be VERY wary of just limiting yourself to cars locally available as you:
a) cross many potentially decent cars off your list (expanding your search to nearby towns [say up to 25 miles away] would increase that list a lot, and;...

Hi I got a Zafira b 2013 and it has got "Electronic Stability Program" esp fitted.but I do not have the sports button fitted to turn it off! i like an after market switch/ button, so I can turn it of in an emergency, like getting of the road or up the hill and then be able to turn it back on, like some models have got that switch and have it myself fitted and the ecu modified?I know there was somebody i believe in Yorkshire/ Sheffield who did this work, but i do not remember the contact details Read more
You can turn off the ESP on some cars, and on some of those it will still activate in a critical situation, so in reality you can't turn it off. Our Skoda Superb offers the facility to turn off the Front Assist system, but I'm not sure it can be totally disabled. My Fiat Ducato work van has no means to turn the ESP off. It even states that in the owner's manual.
Hello.
I have an old car parked on my compound for several years. I brought a new car because an old car is not working properly so I decided to change my car. But now an old car is getting out of maintenance, so I decided to dismantle.... Read more

In 2013 I bought a 2.0 Kiga Titanium 4x4, 2 years old (61 plate), 6k miles, prev owner lived in North London. I too had a few concerns on the DPF but also had a Cooper S which I used for short journeys. The Kuga would do 90 mile runs to the office once a week, seaside every 2 months etc so the DPF would not have regeneration problems.
Never had a problem with it at all, in fact a very reliable and comfortable car and was very reluctant to have to sell in it Jan 2016 as I'd got a company car, but knowing I'd be knocking up 22-24k miles per year, didnt want telephone number mileage on my own car, so sold with 33k on the clock....
Hello,
I want to carry out on-board diagnostic of my Cruze Hatchback. After googling a bit, I found out that there is an app called "Toque Lite OBD" which is basically an Android one. I tried to install it on my Windows 10 HP Probook using this tutorial:... Read more
You're dependent on the Bluestacks app talking to the bluetooth components of your PC running Windows and relaying that backwards and forwards to and from the ODB2 dongle.
Best bet would be to buy a cheap Amazon Fire tablet if you don't want an Android phone.
Hi
Driving through a busy, urban part of Edinburgh (Leith) on Friday past, slowing down as the traffic in front of me was doing the same (probably about 5mph) when a car went into the back of me. When I got out it became apparent that the impact had shunted me forward into the car in front which in turn had hit the car in front of it (so 4 cars involved)... Read more
It does more harm (so we are told) to keep taking a TC auto out of D and the then reselecting D for the typical traffic light change duration, than leaving it simply in D.
As for neutral and parking brake, the standard parking brake acting on the rear wheels won't take much of a shunt to shift it into the car in front, similarly there could be extreme damage to the transmission of an auto with P facility of P were selected and only the handbrake applied in the event of shunt from the rear....
No I haven't.
