This is what MG says in the news page on their website about the warranty
Drivers can be confident that the increased warranty does not diminish the level of cover provided and is not an insurance-based product. MG Motor UK believes so strongly in the quality of the new MG ZS that it is backing the fantastic warranty itself. The brand cares about giving customers top-quality cars and top-quality aftercare; the 7 year/80,000-mile warranty will provide customers with the comfort that the manufacturer will look after them and their car should anything go wrong.
Maybe MG hasn’t responded to you due to your rather harsh review Read more
Pleased to see that Mazda are "looking at means of improving tyres and suspension". They need to! My CX-3 suffers from relentless tyre noise and an unforgiving ride, even on 16 inch wheels, so there is certainly room for improvement.
I shall be following HJ's advice and fitting Michelin Cross Climates when the time comes for new tyres. Read more
Electric vehicles may cut pollution in the immediate vicinity of their use, but in most cases, they will be charged by burning fossil fuels. Since the power that gets to your home is typically around 50% of the energy value of the fuel burnt at the power station and charging and discharging batteries uses even more of the energy value in the fuel, it's difficult to see how battery power can be the long term answer. Just imagine how many more power stations and grid systems would need to be built if we all came home from work and plugged in our cars for a charge up?
I think small high-efficiency engines have a long way to go yet.
Last Monday, I was driving along an unlit country road and I was followed by a car with discharge type headlights, bright DRLs and foglights. Is this a record ?
I quickly adjusted the rear view mirror so that the glare was not so bad. If it was an oncoming car the glare could have given me a problem.... Read more
It would have been smog, not fog, from the nearby industrial towns belching smoke from the mill chimneys and coal fires of row upon row of terraces and 'back-to-backs'. The moorland rocks are still black, as are many of the old buildings. I too remember driving in such scary peasoupers which youngsters have no experience of and thankfully never will.
For dazzle protection, in this age of in-car gadgetry I am surprised so few models are fitted with a rear window blind that rises at a touch of a button in my old Audi.
Do your motoring requirements fit these parameters?
A, You have a VERY small budget.... Read more
I love cheapo bargain bucket motoring like this, I've ran several of them over the years. None of these were trade ins, all were bought as my own transport in typical motor trade style I hate losing money on motors.
A 99 T Fiesta 1.25 LX I bought for £300 with nearly no Mot passed me the other day there, nearly 6yrs after I flogged it for £495. Cost me nowt for 6mths motoring and it's still going.
A 99 V Mondeo 1.8 LX I bought with 65k and a glovebox full of receipts for £300 then travelled almost 4,000 miles round Europe. Flogged for £300 it to another couple of chaps who were off to Venice on another banger challenge which it survived.
A 01 X Ford Cougar V6, paid £300 with two weeks Mot. It flew through without a single advisory then I flogged it 6mths later for £825.
99 T Toyota Avensis 1.8 SE with one owner bought for £1250 and ran without fault for three years then flogged to a friend for £850, she then ran it for another 3yrs or so before it died.
99 T Mazda MX5 bought for £1475 then flogged for £1,600 after 2yrs of B road fun
Running a car can be dirt cheap if you don't care about fashion or image.

It can't be easy for anyone to know exactly the right point to give up - before that point it's too early and after that point the mind may not work well enough to assess correctly.

I agree with you edlithgow, a momentary short while someone is leaning over the battery could be more than an inconvenience if the battery happened to be gassing - there could be an explosion and possible loss of sight, or worse.
Hi,
I have what seems to be a strange problem with my VW Golf 2009. When turning on the ignition, the instrument cluster seems completely fine (lcd comes on, warning lights light up etc) up until the point when the engine is started and then it switches off. All other electrics work in the car and the engine ticks over but the instrument cluster is just completely dead. Does anyone know what the cause might be or where I could start looking?... Read more

"All that fuss just to lift forks"
I thought they used chopsticks over there?
There is no "confusion" on Government Policy on diesel.
The Industry shot itself in the foot "hiding" the truth about Nox pollution.
They've had it good for a few years enticing people on to PCP's and thereby locking them into the 3 year average purchase cycle, and now the wind is blowing cold, all of a sudden they Urgently need help...
And no, I am not going to help them by buying a new car!
An Idea for them..
Sell car. Give 5 year minimum 100,000 mile warranty, especially on Multitronic/DSG type boxes with annual inclusive oil changes and 5 years fixed servicing costs.
Tell the truth and don't use the Punter as your quality control. Read more
Just wait in a few years time when the Government realise how much pollution is being caused by electric cars. Lithium for the batteries has to travel 1000's of miles by petroleum powered transport, also an extract from a recent newspaper article,
'But the extraction of nickel – predominately mined in Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Russia and the Philippines – comes at an environmental and health cost.
Plumes of sulphur dioxide choking the skies, churned earth blanketed in cancerous dust, rivers running blood-red – environmental campaigners have painted a grim picture of the nickel mines and smelters feeding the electric vehicle industry.'
Environmentalist's can't have it both ways, everything comes at a cost, maybe not on our doorstep, but on somebodies.
Took our zs 2018 in as a warning light appeared, had a message from the garage, saying the wrong oil filter had been fitted, so the warranty is void, they mentioned it was from a Renault?? Told us the problem was with a sensor in the exhaust, my wife collected the car, I had a look in the glove box for all the paperwork, we had left the paperwork from our Renault Clio in as well as our zs, they obviously saw a receipt for the oil filter and jumped to a conclusion, now there asking for all the parts and oil which have been fitted since the 1st service!!! On the phone the mechanic said all the parts look ok, so I replied why have I got to prove what's been fitted and removed 2 years ago. Feel there looking for a way out of there commitments. I won't be buying one again
