White grease is too thick to work its way into the hinge, spray grease is goof, it seems to soak in enough and stay in place a decent time, alternatively ok it may be a bit pongy but thick gear oil is also good for hinge use and takes a long time to be washed off.
White grease is the service garage's favourite because it's easily visible for the punter if they look.
Hello,
Inspecting my civic at the Honda garage, it was discovered the rear caliper was sticking. I have seen threads about this topic and was wondered is it a known fault with Honda ? Apparently when they discover something the Honda garage where I take my car, they film it. When I asked to see the video the mechanic sheepishly said he had forgot to turn the video on. That may be true.... Read more
my Jazz with rear discs has been perfect - touch wood - in five years.. No work on brakes at all...
That sounds like a recipe for them NOT to be perfect in the future, unless it really is a "maintenance free" design....

Although the seller advertises as a private seller, he may be a dealer in disguise.
Google any of the contact No's he has given you & see if it discloses any other car adverts....
Now that I've encompassed changing my car (04 x type 2.0d, 174k) I'm a bit like a kid in a sweet shop - too much choice.
I vacillate between a cheapo new one on PCP (Dacia) and what I really like to drive (larger, slow and lazy). Diesel is out, I only do about 8k pa, but that includes several 600 mile round trips and (hopefully) one 2500 foreign round trip.... Read more

If you bought it on a regulated credit agreement via the seller, you will have the same rights against the lender as the seller. They will of course try to get the seller to sort it out, butthey are legally on the hook.
Hi,
We are considering buying a Mercedes Benz Citan tourer but want to find a good deal.
Local dealer has said they will knock off £2k from the price list ex VAT but no extra.
Does anyone know of any Merc dealers who like to have a deal?
Carwow don't sell that model.

The problem wilth all politicians is that they don't get any proper training. Some of us as professionals trained for three or more years to get our qualifications: civil servants get their training through years of experience on the job.
Every time there's an election or a reshuffle, someone is given a department about which usually (s)he knows nothing, and then is expected to make vital decisions from the word go. No wonder they make such a pigs' breakfast of it....
I have a question relating to a failing battery, can anyone advise please.

Thank you, Ken, for getting back to us with the final chapter of the saga. I'm sure we all wish people who post here would do the same in similar circumstances.
To Garage my car, manual gearbox, I electrically fully retract my wing mirrors, swing to the right entering my drive and square up to my garage door frame and stop short. Then using slipping clutch, bit of accelerator, maybe touch of foot brake I creep foward into the narrow garage opening up to and close to the wall ahead, brake to a stop, switch off , leave in gear ,release brake.
Contemplating as to how I could control an inch forward with an automatic cvt can someone advise me in detail how I could this and how to inch the vehicle forward undercontrol and without colliding with garage door frame/wall?.... Read more
And good to see you are recovering and driving again!
