Ref JC "second best". What not buy a dog ramp to assist boot entry. That would remove the restriction in choice and open up the possibility of the Ka sized Picanto. JM

Cant believe the Smart ForFour was suggested ahead of the Renault Twingo. The Twingo is a very good car with excellent dealer support when needed. Oh, and it's far better looking than the 'Smart' version. Read more

I had an Octavia Scout on lease for 2 years. Skoda Finance collected it 2 days ago. I was surprised to receive an email from Skoda Finance a few weeks ago offering to sell the car to me. Perhaps VW Group no longer want their diesels back even though this was EU6 so not affected by the emissions problem.

I had a '13 Fiesta on which the system was rotational and '14 Fiesta which was sensors-Contact a Ford parts counter and they will be able to tell you the VIN for the change. You may also be able to get the info from ETIS-just type ETIS into a search engine.Type the reg. or VIN into it and then call up the minor features list.

Yes,get somebody to check the rear light operation.Turn everything on and you will very likely find that all the lights come on like an xmas tree. Most definitely burnt/overheated contacts on the rear light cluster connectors.Common problem, similar to Renault.

Just had 4 new Goodyear tyres fitted at a very good price......but 2 are made in Germany and 2 in Poland also both the 2 German tyres have jun 17 manufacture date but the Polish tyres were made nov 16 and mar 17
So the question would that bother you or am worrying about nothing and what is acceptable for tyre manufacture date ie one tyre is almost 1 yr old and will it be best to have same country tyres on same axle

AS long as the tyres are all the same tread pattern, I'd not be bothered in the slightest

I can vouch for the Hyundai i10 auto. This is worth a test drive and bears no resemblance to small cars a decade ago. It is good for town/ urban use but also comfortable and quiet on a long journey. All a matter of choice/perception of course but why buy something bigger than you really need ?

Having been a long time reader of HJ in the Telegraph, I have picked up lots of money saving tips and hints so really should have been signed up here before.

In his latest column in the Telegraph an item called "Mum's the word" suggests that if a couple have two insurance policies and are slowing down and coming down to one car then they need to pick one of the policies and use it alone.... Read more
