I had the exact same problem on a Peugeot 307, as soon as you went over 70mph it would fly into the red then drop back down. It was a faulty (or just EOL - it was ten years old) sensor. Cheap fix at a tenner.

Hi there! I had a rear tyre replaced as I was told it was out of shape, and this was marked on the report (that I received after paying) as 'needs replacing today'. The other rear tyre has also been replaced as I was led to believe that this was necessary over the phone when I spoke to the garage I used (a large chain).

However when I saw the report, the tyre was assessed as 'ok' and below this in pen 'balance' had been written. I'm assuming that this means the second tyre has been replaced to balance out the other new tyre, but I've never had this happen before with other cars and other garages as I've had one tyre replaced without another being needed for balance. I feel I may have been sold a tyre I didn't need, which has resulted in a hefty total bill – does this sound like the case to anyone else?... Read more

This is one of my favorite rental companies and I use their services quite often. Usually I rent a car at the airport, but recently I booked a car online on this site in Orlando https://14cars.com/car-rental/usa-orlando-airport-mco-fl-7-seater and it turned out to be much more convenient, the main advantage is that you can easily view all the offers of companies and choose the right car without haste Read more

As an aside, VXR8 production has already ended - the last 15 cars have been built. Since GM North America has permanent blinkers to RHD, the Mustang is all there is in the Muscle Car segment.

Hi
This morning my central locking on our zafira b 2013 1.7

diesel stopped working.I would not unlock any door just the

boot, it would make a clicking sound as so to unlock the doors,

but then not do it. I also noticed the fuel gauge not working

properly either. It showed about have te amount of fuel then i

got in the tank. i calibrated that by going to the petrol station

and filling up the tank and it showed have full.
Confusing! After about 2 hours and checking some fuses and

looms of wiring it started to work again, fuel gauge correct and

doors locking and unlocking.
Does any body got an idea what it could be, any body got any

relay info or and wiring info or diagrams?

Need to fix it to prevent going wrong again.

Thanks Read more

Hi,

Might be a silly question, but was is the advantage of dedicated electrics when fitting a tow bar? Never had them on my mondeo, and the fitting place wants another 150 quid off me to fit them. So I was wondering what they do exactly as ive never had them before.... Read more

What I meant to say above is with the dedicated electrics, the car detects when the trailer is on the back of the car and disables the reversing sensors, when the trailer is not connected the reversing sensors should work fine, even with the towball there. Note that the car will need coding if you fit dedicated electrics, £40ish at a main dealer or your towbar company may have the kit to do it as part of the price hopefully

Hi there everyone. Im after some advice and thoughts on the above vehicle. My 15 year old Mondeo which as been a great work horse, 1.8 petrol, has got some worn cylinder rings so its time for a change. As we go camping a few times a year with our trailer, my wife is wanting something with a big boot, good on long journeys but also the option to carry more people occosionaly like grandparents and our kids friends. So ive seen a Smax on a 58 or 09 plate, 2.2 Titanium with about 80k on it. They are asking about 5K for it which is about my budget limit.

Any thoughts on this engine/model, anything major to look out for at that milleage particulary? Its on sale at a dealers so it might, not sure yet, come with some sort of warrenty but i need to ask about that. It seems to tick all the boxes apart from a niggling thing in my mind that 'its a diesel'. Ive looked for petrol ones but cant see any for sale within 50 or 60 miles of where i live. A friend of mine has the same engine in his Freelander so i know it pulls well. ... Read more

The modern version of the previa is the estima, one of the toyota's I mentioned. Being a Japanese import, it will be a petrol engine as there are virtually no diesel cars sold in Japan (they have been aware for a long time just how much air quality problems, especially in cities, are caused by diesel emissions). But if the OP doesn't cover a huge mileage, or tow a heavy trailer/caravan, it shouldn't be a major issue. Modern diesel engines are hugely complex, so are going to cost more to service, plus the long term reliability of all these 'diesel emission treatment systems' are questionable at best.

If I was in the market for a 7 seat MPV on a £5k budget, I would be very seriously considering going Japanese!. ...
