There was an article a few days ago in The Telegraph about middle aged men experiencing (not commiting) more road rage than ahy other sector.

Today I was at traffic lights in a right filter lane with an elderly Mercedes S-class next to me in the middle lane. As I turned right, it also tried to turn right and it took me a while to realise that the driver was doing. He almost hit the middle of my car and he took umbrage as I hooted. Thereafter he followed me down some narrow streets ( I was visiting a 'back street garage') and when I stopped he shouted that he could turn right also as the lane arrows indicated he could. ... I know the feeling !

"Middle Aged Road Rage - bintang

As an elderly driver, I find my habit of keeping to speed limits upsets quite a lot of drivers but I sometimes get insults just by being there. Not long ago, I was quietly partaking of my bad coffee and worse sandwich in a bar of the National Theatre when a young man, who had been staring at me from another part of the room, came over and called me an old fool, while making for the exit."...

pps I fitted it yesterday, and it blew a little bit at the manifold gasket, but I didn't change the gasket or put any exhaust sealant on it..and i haven't changed an exhaust pipe before, so I dunno if it's just me.
I've added a bit of exhaust sealant around it as a botchit, and it seems fine today Read more

Good to see you're still leering about Liam, and still got that trusty little 106 too, great, as the poster above said a truly cracking little car, my daughter still misses hers and it wouldn't surprise me one bit of she found herself a rare as hens teeth GTi and went back to one.

Just checked up on fuel usage, (brim to brim) 40 and a bit t0 the gallon, not complaining about that at all, was round trip taunton to rickmansworth via a303/m3/m25 back via a412/datchet/windsor m3/a303 daytime both ways.

All things considered quite pleased with that, and those rotalla tyres i fitted 7 months ago doing well, no signs of wear and much quieter than the nexen n-blue fitted previously.... Read more

I have a private plate on retention (T15SAN), where's the best place to sell it apart from eBay? Ideally I'd like to put it in a DVLA auction, but can only find out how to buy not how to sell at a DVLA auction... Read more

Thanks for the advice and a very good point about the high valuation... I think that I'll try eBay as a fixed price with offers listing and see what happens...

I see that one of the travel sites advertising in the spaces is "airfasttravel"

It is important to note that it is an online only company although with a uk phone number somewhere there is no physical uk prescence.... Read more

Hi guys.

Recently, I've noticed that my car seems to be hiccuping quite a bit lately when just strolling along. If I'm accellerating, and do not have my foot on the accelerator, then it does not seem to have this problem. But, if I'm just strolling along keeping a steady speed, then I've noticed that it seems to be hiccuping.... Read more

That sounds like a dirty turbo to me! Your turbo is probably covered in carbon deposits. There are plenty of products you could use that are avaliable to clean a turbo, you should try and clean it before you take it to a mechanic because chances are they will just want to replace it again!

Who in their right mind would trust a diesel engine built by Mazda?
Mazda's response and lack of help to owners of the dreadful 2.2 diesel should ensure no one who does their homework wastes any money on a Mazda diesel.

I bought a brand new Seat Ibiza in January this year and have covered 8000 miles. There are a few small stone chips on the bonnet and a bigger one on the front drivers side door. Is this make and model of car prone to stone chips in general or is there a quality issue with the paint? The colour is non metallic emocion red. Read more

Seat Leon bought 12 months ago. Non-metallic white paint. After 8000 miles there are zero chips on the bonnet.

Compared to our other recent car purchases which have all been metallics this is the best result I have seen. The other cars (Fords, Kia and BMW) have all suffered bonnet chips within the first 12 months. The lacquer used on metallics is certainly harder but does appear to be far more chip prone that the paint used on the Leon....
