Hi all

I was involved in a 5 car pile up not long ago me being the car in front and taking the last shunt, The third party at fault accepted liability to their own insurance and they are dealing with it in regards to my car getting fixed ( hopefully )

However clearly I was not at fault nor could have done nothing to prevent being hit as I was stationary at traffic lights at the time, The driver behind me that went into my car is claiming uninsured losses from me??? How can that happen as I wasn't liable nor at fault in regards to the accident.

Obviously I will be forwarding the letter to my own insurers, But looking for some advice over this as I haven't heard of this situation before.

Thanks

It's quite possible his solicitors / Insurers have sent their letter to the wrong vehicle, it may have been intended for the vehicle behind them

My car has been hesitating badly since I misfuelled with unleaded. I only drove 200m before parking up to go shopping - afterwhich the car would not restart. Called out the Fuel Doctor who completely drained down the tank and got the car started on diesel again. It was since then that it has started to hesitate badly at speed on reapplication of the throttle after periods of decelleration or coasting. Have had 1.5 tanks of diesel since the misfuel incident.

I have had the fuel filter replaced (Genuin Citroen) but no change in symptoms. Local garage can't find any fault codes and could not replicate - however it does it regularly for me albe it less often on some routes than others.... Read more

Thanks for the advice - the MAF was not connected properly and the hesitation has stopped since I clipped it back together properly. Hope thats the end of it!

You pay for your own fuel nothing to do with the tax man and you can't claim it back either.

Ha! Wait for the day that the Romanians and Indians start unionising their workforces.

They could always shift production to the UK then I suppose. ;)

Decent enough comedian. Terrible actor. Made even worse by the fact he was acting as himself.

I was wondering if someone could give me a little bit of advice. Earlier in the week I put a deposit on a 2006 volkswagen golf from a small used car dealer. The mileage listed on the website was just over 42,000 miles which is good for a car that age.

The car has no service history, the book only has the delivery inspection in it - no other servicing. The car has only one owner, it was bought new from a VW dealer and traded back in to that dealer, who must have sold it to this used car firm.... Read more

Cagiva - thank you for coming back to us: you said you wouldn't and I can quite underxtan why.

The key to forums like this is to be prepared to listen to advice you don't want to hear (I think you were) but to ignore any idiot who is rude to you: they are simply on an ego trip. Any advice worth having will be given politely and constructively, even if it may disagree with others' views....

The car is over revving without me touching the accelerator but its not constant .....it will go in and out. Does anyone know what the problem could be before i take it to the garage? Read more

Had this problem years ago and it was caused by the clutch pedal switch being moved.

The mechanic clipped it back into place, problem solved.
