During the recent spell of snow I left my car idle for a week. In that time the melting snow managed to leak into the boot through the back of the rear light cluster. The water gathered in the spare wheel well and other recesses in the boot where various ECUs are placed.
I'm trying to dry out the ECUs rather than replace. It seems that the Peugeot 407 has a reputation for leaky rear light clusters often showing tell tale condensation inside them. I had no idea so much damage could be caused!... Read more
Hi, My Engine Management came on and stays on without flashing. I took it to thr garage and they changed the plugs & coil but it's still the same. It showed up that all six cylinders were miss firing. Has anyone else come across this problem Read more
Has it got six plug leads? That would be a clue!

Many thanks Trilogy. To my eyes it looks good, and praise be, Skoda haven;t gone the way of all flesh and reduced the glass area. There's no need to.
As with so many models, each new iteration is bigger than the last: not necesarily a bad thing, but I doubt if Skoda will need to replace the Superb. Shades of Ford witb the Mondeo / Granada, and Vauxhall who got the message too late that there was little demand for the Signum.
hi , any one else had this problem and is it easily fixed without going to a garage?
recently in the cold weather we been having ,the front passenger side electric window has developed a delay. When being used ... press button to wind down and nothing happens for about 30 secs then down it goes but winding up is instant ..just want to know how i access the window motor and what i should look out for... Does anyone know if the 16" Croft alloy wheels fitted to mk 6 golf are diamond cut or just normal alloys had a slight nick on the rim pothole/kerb not sure and looking for repair but if they are diamond cut they are more expensive to fix. Read more
Just been looking at the pics of this Chinese "Qoros" thing. Presumably silly model names aren't enough these days and you have to have a silly manufacturer name.
Here's the pic link: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motor-shows/geneva-motor-show/9878409/Qoros-the-Chinese-car-maker-with-Europe-in-its-sights.html#?frame=2485133... Read more
I agree - it does look like abit of this and a bit of that. But that's what they said about Japanese cars in the 1960s and Korean cars in the 1970s. Look where they are now....
Hi
I just bought a low mileage Zafira Life. Just before I called to collect the car, apparently, a warning light came on and I was told they would sort this out when sorting out another minor thing with the car. Having now checked myself, it is the emissions warning light. It is on all the time. I took the car back as arranged and they (very nice dealers) have checked it and tell me it is 'just a faulty sensor and wouldn't affect the drive of the car'. I was under the impression from a phone conversation that this sensor fault had been corrected but it is still showing all the time so I am wondering if they just expect me to ignore it. I am very concerned as, if the light is on all the time, even if it genuinely is the sensor, not what it is indicating is wrong, (and it has new MOT so presumably emissions were checked?) how on earth am I supposed to know that that is actually the case and how will I know if the fault itself does develop! My feeling is that this should be put right especially since it existed before I brought the car home a couple of weeks ago, and was acknowledged. Should I be worried? Even if it is 'only a sensor' wouldn't this give me problems if I wanted to sell the car? Would appreciate some advice please. Don't want to be an awkward customer but this is a big expenditure for me and don't want to do nothing and have problems in a little while.... Read more
Thanks very much for the prompt reply! I will do what you suggest - they seem very nice so I am sure they will sort it out (fingers crossed).I'll let you know.

It's a Private Parking Company, not the Police or a council. They are well known for being thieving, lying scammers and have no interest in leniency if they can make a quick profit.
In any case it's unenforceable so I hope he has the good sense not to pay it.
I recently bought an Audi from Mpm Ltd. in Weybridge. I had been dealing with a franchised dealer and then came accross their website by accident. I can honestly say the the service was much better and I was not put under any of the usual sales pressure.I am delighted with my car and just wanted to recommend them to anyone who is looking for an Audi Quattro. I will certainly be going back when the time gomes to upgrade. Read more
Probably my suspicious nature Avant. Sorry.
But as MPM Limited is a company of electricians in Hertfordshire, I'm extra careful when a trading style belies the truth. Having said that, the website of Marc Paul Motors Limited clearly states their true identity, so I'm probably seeing ghosts!
Hello,
Do any of the VW 1.6 TDI CAYA (75BHP) or CAYB (90BHP) engines come *without* a DPF as standard? I may need to replace my trusty 2008 Skoda Fabia 1.4Tdi (BNV version = no DPF) nicely run in after a faultless 165,000 miles. But I do not want a DPF. If I cannot find a 1.6 TDI without a DPF then I guess I will just stick with my trusty Fabia. Read more
IIRC the way to tell if a VAG engine has a DPF is the 3 letters at the beginning of the engine code. Try looking on a VAG forum for the codes
