This must rate as the most pointless 5 yds warning sign!
There is not a similar sign in the other direction.... Read more
My 1.8 Focus TDCI estate has developed a grinding noise which I have located to the back of the fuel pump - has anyone else experienced this and whats the fix? If its the pump is it easy to change or very difficult and expensive? Any help will be much appreciated. Read more
Don't know if its difficult to change, but you'd best get it done before it breaks up and knackers the injectors.
Has anyone had reasonable experience driving both the pre and facelifted Mazda 2 TS2? I currently have a pre facelift TS2 and have been impressed by how good the car is, especially with this little engine. However, there have been times when a little more power would have been useful, especially with passengers on board. However, as it is only me in the car for most of the time, this has not really bothered me too much.
However, now that Mazda have knocked a few horsepower off and given it taller gearing to get it into the £30 tax bracket, I am concerned that this may have blunted the performance a bit. I am due to change the car in September and although I will test drive the facelifted version, this is not going to give me any real indication of differences, especially with a low mileage demonstrator which hasn't loosened up yet. When the Fiesta uses the MZR engine Mazda will be using the Skyactive engines from 2012 probably?
Hi all - I'm interested in a car that is at a local dealer - it is good value - but the only downside is that it is has been sitting on the forecourt since last July.
Would you be worried about this? It needs a new battery which I have figured into the price and am going to get it inspected by someone who knows what they are doing. The brake discs are rusted, but the price is good.... Read more
Sounds like it might be a 1.8vvti!
Check the threads on here on the Toyota owners forum regarding oil consumption problems. If this car has no service history for over 40k miles and has sat on a forecourt for months ask yourself why. I would be very wary....
I own a Grand Modus which a few weeks from expiry of the warranty. On several occasions it has had a intermittent fault in that it after fuel has been put in the fuel gauge does not change. The "gauge" consists of coloured blocks which "light up" on a black ground to show how much fuel is in the tank.
Last week it showed one empty block so I filled the tan until the pump cut out. The gauge still showed one unlit block even though the tank was actually full.... Read more
Trading Standards won'r be interested. They onlr really deal with criminal matters with a possibility of a prosecution. You probably need to come back to me via asklucy@honestjohn.co.uk to see iof we can mediate or pressuruse for a resolution.
Hi,
I have a Renault Clio 1.6 RT auto. I currently cant not have alot of weight or carry passengers in the back of my car. When some one sits in the back of the car the wheels go up into the wheel arches and screaches, creaks etc. Also when no one is in the back and its just myself when going over bumps and around corners sharp the noise also happens. Any ideas what could be causing this? And wil it be expensive to repair?... Read more
it would be best to try and find a mechanic you trust or go into quick fit to get a look at the car. it sounds like the suspension units are not damping or somethng could have broke. If you dont know a good mechanic ask your friends or there are car specific forums that will suggest in your area.

Hi,
I was thinking of getting a new CD player for the car, one with a multi-changer to go in the boot. However, I'm thinking that CDs are soooo 1990s (and not a very efficient or effective way of storing lots of music).... Read more
I had a DAB radio in my old Focus - I bought those little metal pincer things to remove the radio and hubby and I installed the DAB (he bought me it for my b'day). Got a single width filler thingamajig to fill in the gap. Looked alright. Wasn't a difficult job; just carefully does it and don't zap yourself ;-)
It had an aux line to plug in an iPod, took CDs and USB. I couldn't fit it in my Mazda (giant fascia damnit) but I will have a look at it and do another post - it was a JVC I am sure. Excellent piece of kit.
I am considering buying an 08 plate Alhambra for around 14K, it has very low mileage and a years warranty from a Seat dealer. However I just started to read about oil pump problems with these 140bhp engines. How widepsread are they? Some references talk about engines from 05-07, was it fixed after that?

Cameron will be all happy to slam red tape and bureaucracy until somebody does something he doesnt like then he'll back up so quick he'll need a beeping noise.
In the case of that stupid sign it was probably the result of a law suit when somebody crashed and claimed they werent warned. Thats usually the reason why Governments have to do such stupid things, because of stupid people....
