So I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me acquire some old issues of autotrader.... Its a long shot I know but worth trying. Pretty much the story is my stepdad left the family on bad terms in 2004 and stole, then sold our maroon, J-reg Range Rover. Now he is trying to claim money of my poor mother as well using legal aid at the expense of the taxpayer. He is a con artist and nobody likes a con artist. Anyway I need to try and acquire Autotrader issues from between September and December 2004 as I believe one of these issues should contain the car that he sold on the sly... Apologies for the rant but if anyone would be able to offer advice on where I could find back issues of autotrader, that would be really helpful and appreciated!... Read more
Have you tried asking Autotrader themselves if they can help you? Given your story you might find someone sympathetic.
I have a 2003 1.1 206, this morning I started the car to warm up, the fans were on with the radio, everything was fine until I tried to wash the screen, as soon as I tried the car cut out. Now the only thing that works is the starter, the key fob wont work, lights, hazards, dash warning lights, nothing works. When I turn the ignition on you can here a continuous relay click which sounds like it is coming from a sealed unit near the fuse box under the dash. I have checked all of the fuses I can find and they are all ok.

I live,for most of the year, in Gozo,Malta. I own a house in the UK. I have just bought a 2007 RAV4 which is registered in Malta and I want to drive it back to the UK via Italy and France and stay for 3 months - to sort out some family matters, driving back to Malta in March 2011. I can insure the car comprehensively with Maltese companies but I am having great difficulty obtaining insurance cover other than 3rd party-only for the journey and stay in England. Is it possible to obtain better cover in the UK for 3 months? I obviously cannot register the car in the UK and UK insurance companies that I have called won't insure a Maltese-registered car. Can anyone help?

Second that sentiment.
I've just bought a clio which has light silver colour seatbelts. The driver's belt is filthy dirty, especially for a 54 reg car. I wonder if all belts look like this but when they're black you don't notice the muck?
Anyway I'm after some advice please on what to clean the belt with - I don't want to accidentally try a cleaning product which may damage the webbing.... Read more

morning - someone i work with has epileptic and diabetic fits, should the dvla be informed?? i thought you had to be "fit" free for a certain amount of time before you could drive again?? my big concern is if he fits while in control of his car he or someone else could be injured or killed. can anyone tell me if there is anyway to inform the dvla or find out what the law is on this?

Hello according to justasking the doctor knows about the chaps problem but haven't informed DVLA.

It occasionally will not change up automatically into top gear and has to be done manually - is this a common fault? Read more
top is normally just a lock up clutch and is controlled by speed. I trust the speedo and ABs are all functioning correctly as this is where some of the signals come from.
It would be advisable to find a indy merc specialist who has good diag kit such as winstar, where they can delve into the depths of diagnostics and live data with ease,as long as they understand what they are doing.

I've got a 2l Mazda 6 hatchback with 49k miles on the clock and the exhaust has been rattling recently.
The exhaust on the 2l models splits into two just before the rear silencers and the 'Y' piece has a bracket welded onto it that helps to support the exhaust at this point - it is this bracket that has come away from the pipe and is causing the rattle.... Read more
A good welder will make you a new bracket and fit it.

my only comment would be those dark tinted windows are a turn off. it looks like a car a young person has tried to bling up and will put off all the more mature drivers. remove the tint and clean the windows.
seems a good price to me for the age
