Mazda 6 - Broken exhaust bracket - mikej

I've got a 2l Mazda 6 hatchback with 49k miles on the clock and the exhaust has been rattling recently.

The exhaust on the 2l models splits into two just before the rear silencers and the 'Y' piece has a bracket welded onto it that helps to support the exhaust at this point - it is this bracket that has come away from the pipe and is causing the rattle.

The exhaust still seems to be adequately supported at each of the rear silencers, but I'm guessing I should see if this bracket can be repaired.

Due to the low mileage of the car and otherwise excellent condition of the exhaust, I'm reluctant to start replacing sections unless I have to so my question is... is it possible to get generic brackets that will clamp around an existing exhaust pipe with a bar attached that could be shaped to fit the rubber mount that the broken bracket is currently hanging from ?

A good welder will make you a new bracket and fit it.
